I played SOTC for the first time in 2007, and since then I've been following Fumito Ueda's work. I've played ICO and The Last Guardian and loved them both, and I'm waiting for Ueda's new game, I hope it comes out later this year haha.
I think Aztec culture was probably one of SOTC's inspirations, but what I know for sure is that it was inspired by the arts of GĂ©rard Trignac for the scenarios, and it has biblical inspiration in the story as well.
And yes, you're right, I was inspired by Greek and Roman cultures, but not so directly. I'm a fan of God of War and I learned a lot of mythology from the game, and I was inspired by the game to make this comic. Also, I was inspired by SOTC too, the main character is very similar to Wander.
Interesting that you studied formally related to games. Unfortunately I haven't been able to do that yet, but that won't stop me from making games in the future as I also spent a lot of my time learning on my own.
I still don't have a page to put my artwork in as I don't have much art either and I started in this art world with this comic. I took a look at your page and there is a lot of stuff, you do it very well.
