Hey Allyn, I quickly read through your story and I really can't see anything glaringly offensive at all??
Did you ask the staff specifically how your work falls into the 'predominantly sexual in nature, or intended primarily as an aid to sexual gratification' category?

You said it was your entry into the writer's camp contest. I would not be surprised if someone went around flagging entries in order to better the chances of an entry they support and you were simply sent a semi-automated warning. It's a stretch, but that's really all I can think of. Do you know if any other contestants were contacted about their content in a similar manner?

HM … I think if I were in your situation I'd shoot them a message explaining the situation and include something along the lines of

"As these intimate scenes are integral to the story and the characters' development, I tried to be as tasteful as possible in their depiction. If upon further review that these scenes are still excessive, would you have an example of what would be an acceptable version so I can avoid a warning in future contests?"

yeah I understand why...it's just somehow sad that it's even necessary, y'know? sorry to hear that you've been reported yourself, that must not have been fun.

I understand the worries of those who think more specific guidelines would be more restrictive. I think this would probably be the case, and I understand the concern. In my opinion nothing should be censored in art theoretically, though in practice I do understand the need for some censorship. I don't think Tapas guidelines are bad per se. They are probably a good compromise and have the merit to take in account context.

So I have no issues with the guidelines, I have an issue with the way they are applied, ie. why in the facts this is allowed and not that; why this needs mature tag and that not. And the fact the guidelines are vague make us unable to know what to expect (even more for non North-Americans).

So at the end, I don't like the guidelines but I don't want to change them. I just want to be able to complain from time to time I suppose

I think, if more people would be this self-aware about this topic as well as others, we would have fewer issues ;D

The most bothersome part was having to make the censor bars and re-upload the pages haha. I was contacted initially about them by Michael Son but he was very cordial in our exchange and I have nothing but the utmost respect for him.

ok so at risk of spoilers to my readers i have to ask about this just to be sure the page i post in about two weeks time (and im working on right now) isn't breaking rules.
in my comic blunderland there are all kinds of weird and wonderful plants (one of them being boobie mushrooms that make boobs grow at a rapid rate) . the cure to this is another plant that looks and act very much like a certain part of the male anatomy and seeds purple goo. this is all relevant to the story and the colouring is kept plant like ( think naughty leek) but the compassion is obvious (and all in good fun i might add) i will of course be sticking a NSFW on this page but wanted to be sure its ok to post?
