@crowstories Tbh I didn't really change the sentence much.....the first sentence is still intact except for 'fill'....

I'm thinking now, that 'filling' was right in the first place... GAAAAAAH! That's it! **** you grammarly, Imma go with my instincts!

Yeah, it wasn't wrong. There's just a lot of information in that sentence so it's easy to lose track of which verbs to to which nouns.

I second removing 'being prepared" as it feels unnecessary. I'm sure the reader will figure out the dishes aren't done yet by whatever happens next and it makes the sentence pretty wordy. It might also be good to remove 'fill the room' for the same reason. It makes the sentence pretty complex and wordy. Maybe something like:

Snapping out of her engrossed reading, she notices the aroma of multiple dishes.
