Could someone offer suggestions, tips and advice on how to write and script a "Shoujo Royalty Manhwa" webcomic? And draw intricately in that comic genre? I appreciate your help

I am having trouble understanding how to create a comic or webcomic with “Retro, or Old, Anime-style Art” and making a “Shoujo Royalty Manhwa” with qualities and characteristics of old retro manga or manhwa princess isekai stories. I know that they are not only cute, action paced, romance, wholesome , and dark in the times the conflict’s core of the story reveals itself, but the drawings alongside with the action, and dialogue of the characters show a deeper level according to the story’s plans, story’s script, and lore of the story itself.
I feel like that’s something I can make, but I don’t want the story itself to be so complicated and overthought of, and the story has to be self contained and well made. Like an episode, but with a different story and one situation each time. And I also don’t know how to make the setting and characters in their proper setting and timeline, to a point where I can get used to their specific lifestyle and make a good story out of it. I have autism and adhd, and I don’t know where to start for a story with the stories I’m thinking in mind (Examples of anime I know that has the isekai royalty elements are: “Second Life Of A Trash Princess”, “ Philomel The Fake”, “ Mother's Contract Marriage”, “ Into The Light, Once Again”, “ Suddenly I Became A Princess”, and “ Doctor Elise: The Royal Lady With The Lamp”. And examples of old style anime I encountered are: “Candy Candy”, “Creamy Mami”, “The rose of Versailles”, “A journey through fairlyland”/Fairy Florence, and “Princess Knight”).
My mind interprets to things that are in basic standards and not complex standards. My drawings are simple, and I’m not the best at drawing complicated lineart and sketched artwork in excessive detail, although in don’t think of the bigger picture of my drawings and draw/sketch small stuff (unless I’m supposed to make the rough and drawing big first, but I’m horrible horrible horrible at detailed drawings, and I’m not good at it, and I must work hard on everything I draw or if I draw too simple, it won’t be in a good drawing consistency!!). I don’t know what main style I can choose. So in order to avoid to sticking to many artstyles, I have to choose roughly 4 art styles other people (or myself) should make for fantasy isekai princess stories should be ok. And I’m not sure it that’s even possible, because I have too many artstyles I enjoy. And I need to choose one or some of them to remain consistent.
So to sum things up: I’m bad at making original drawings of characters/objects/clothes/plants, character dialogue, romance/platonic relationship storytelling, and fantasy plots for the script.
1. How do you write a fantasy romance comic story? Like the scripting and story brainstorming process? How to you make it cute, action/adventure paced, or dark paced at times, based on the characters in the story’s situation and time?
2. Does all princess isekai/royalty manhwa and old style manga romance stories (such as: Candy Candy, Rose of Versailles, I suddenly became a princess, etc. of other manga/anime mentioned above) have and need to be with fancy drawings? Because I love drawing anime style art/sketches, but I don’t know how to draw it/sketch it to a point where it’s so completely complex, that it nearly looks realistic enough for a fantasy princess isekai manga. How does one do that and manage to color and render these comic drawings? Also how do I avoid drawing “chicken scratches” on the pages when making storyboards, sketches, and line art?
3. How do I write dialogue for all characters in my story, and then make it more polished for my comic? And compare it to actual dialogue? I’m not a speedy note taker of dialogue, because I cannot keep up and on get the gist of conversations.

Any advice? tips? ideas? thoughts? Throw whatever you need that’s helpful out there. I need people who will respond immediately but are writers that would be patient with writing those messages. So please reply.

I want this to be about your thoughts on princess isekai comics, and retro style manga/manhwa. I also want this to be a big inspiration thread, because I want to make stories that I would enjoy, and draw. Plotting/writing tips, and drawing tips would be appreciated for this topic!

Okay . . . I going to skip over the rambling wall of text -- it's look very scary to read.
But I try to chime in on questions under 2.

Do all shoujo stories need to have fancy drawings? = NO
Stories can be told through different drawings, simple or fancy. There are patterns that may help tell certain stories better such as big eyes for easier-to-read expressions, or noir for mystery - but it is NOT an absolute rule.

How to draw and color these comic drawing?
Not sure how to answer this, because there is a wide variety of anime and manga. For example, Himitsu no Akko-chan, Cardcaptor Sakura, Sailor Moon, and Little Witch Academia are all magical girls, but they are drawn differently (I'm not too familiar with royalty shoujo). You can also look at other "shoujo"-like stories made outside Japan - ex. Tangled or Madeline.

Best guess -- look for some tutorials online. If you are overwhelmed on where to start - go to your local libarary and check out if there is a "how to draw shoujo" book. They may not be the "best" books, but you can follow some step-by-step instructions -- and then figure out if any of their drawing techniques work for you or not.

How to avoid "chicken scratches"?
You draw one line rather than "chicken scratches". It will take practice before you can draw lines with good-enough precision, but you have to start drawing lines in one stroke to built up that muscle. If you have wobbly or mis-shapen lines, don't too much worry about them when you start. It's pretty much like learning to write again. Scribble slow, then scribble fast!

Hi there, thank you for the advice. I’m sorry i made my first message for this topic too long. I might make it a royalty shoujo but the truth is, you do have a point. I’m not so familiar with royalty shoujo isekai either. I only read a tapas comic “Being Loved for the First Time” about isekai in multiple other worldly fantasy settings, and a few webtoons with fantasy isekai based on people who then get to another world… But the part where you said making a shoujo related manga is a better idea. Because I just… do not know what to write for a good 5 chapter short story or one chapter of a self-established story for “global comics award contest” (for tapas of 2024). I read the rules and I’m not sure how this would work other than the main rules (which is to make a comic and make it short up to 75 panels, and within 5 chapters)? How can I practice winning contests? And how can I figure out what to write and establish my story? I know people will make my story better than mine! They all thought up their own stories and I want (and long) to win! I have no money and my family lacks the money they want and I’m trying to push as hard as I can and I get nothing. How do you deal with those feelings and even win?

Perhaps you can try collabing with a writer for the Global Comics Awards contest, if making a story is really stressing you out. Search through the forums or add a post under the "Collaborations" category.

I think you might be worrying too much about things you can NOT control, such as winning contests which is up to a panel judges. You cannot control when there is a storm, but you can prepare for it. There are things you can do that may help better your chances of winning -- like improving your drawing skills so the storytelling is clear, checking the text is readable, etc. You can work on those. You can do this!

As in for drawing my own sketches for experimenting and for fun, and coloring stuff for my own digital comics? (digital, which is a digital screen tablet, or traditional, which is pencil and paper/sketchbook).
I’m sorry I added too much burden in my messages I didn’t know it was worrisome for you. I’m try to lessen more of the load in my replies in the future, and I will do my best to make my story and comics.

Hello, I am only a writer so I can't exactly help with the comic questions but judging by the way you formed your question you seem to be mostly overwhelmed by every part of the process.

From what I've seen at least with writing novels, everyone approaches the process differently. Some people plan everything out meticulously and some just get directly into writing. Comics do require a bit more planning I think just so that everything makes sense, but starting with a rough outline of what you want to include is probably the best place to start. Once you decide your main idea and main characters, you can draft a rough outline that can be as little or as much as you'd like.
Are you referring to fancy backgrounds or fancy artwork in general? I think a lot of the princess/royalty themes go along with the idea of opulence so a fancy artstyle suits the theme of the comic.

I don't have the best art skills either, but it is good to be able to pinpoint areas that you could improve in, because it gives you a good starting point for improvement. As lizardlullabye mentioned youtube tutorials are probably the best way to improve your skills
3. Most conversations in comics seem to support the plot in some way. Very rarely do I see conversations 'just because.' Getting a feel for each character before writing the dialogue is pretty important though because most characters will have unique ways of speaking or things they say that help differentiate them.

Find something you want to draw
Try drawing it
If you do not find your drawing satisfactory, look for an tutorial for help and try again.

If it is for fun, just draw however you want. Play around with pencils, pens, colors, buttons in the digital drawing programs, etc. It might not look good in the end, but you tried something.

I meant to refer to fancy artwork, because I don’t know how to draw the details or backgrounds for the artwork properly so that the story will give some effect so artwork as in drawing the artwork and background, and background as in the whole scene along with the establishing scenes/shots of the scenes of the story… also, How do I avoid thinking about things I cannot change and be successful? See I have a book called “The success principles for teens” by jack Canfield and Kent Healy. It has principles on how to be successful. But I didn’t use the book too much and I wished I used it more often as a teenager because I have to change too much of my attitude to do use the energy of everything I want and need right now. And I fear it will push myself beyond control too hard into doing things I cannot control. But now it’s up to this issue (I cannot fix or control rules, or anything like that, because I want to use the law of attraction or something to win the contest). I keep losing confidence and belief in myself because my family knows I am an adult. I don’t understand what is wrong with me. I used draw and read more, but no one noticed me unless it’s my teachers and parents, and I leave everything aside for later, but I need to it’s too much stuff on my plate, and it’s going crazy. What can I do?

I just saw this, but it seems that you are so overwhelmed by the need for quick success and the truth is that everyone finds success differently and very rarely is it quick or easy.

This seems like the first thing that you need to confront. Although it takes time to change how you think of yourself, you need to believe that you are capable and can do the things you set out to do. In regards to feeling overwhelmed, it may be best to pace yourself and set dedicated times to work on the project outside of the other things you have to do. Scheduling things and having a list to check them off can help you stay on track to finish everything in time.

Just because you are an adult now does not mean that you automatically figure everything out. Sometimes you have to give yourself grace as you are just starting out in the adult world.

The only real advice I can give for the artwork is to practice until you get better and faster at it. I'm not an artist and just recently began getting back into drawing again and progress is slow, but over time you will see results.

Absolutely no offense to Audranasa, but definitely focus more on making something unique you actually like rather than having a checklist of tropes. First of all, because stuff that stands out tends to stick more in people’s memory and appeal more strongly to less people, rather than being Just Okay to more people (Most popular shoujo anime/manga ended up famous through a mixture of sheer quality and doing something different) and because webcomics are very tedious to make. Doing something you don’t care about just because it’s a popular genre and selecting everything about it for maximum (theoretical) readers will tire you out pretty quickly.
