Creators of Tapas what where the OH NO moments for you?

Oh! this sounds interesting and kind of funny. My first real decent comic I still consider trash but I left it on webtoons. It is finished and was only 3 chapters. But I grew a lot as an artist in making it. I mostly am focused on getting my novel ready for publish. Im thinking of including some art in the story. But I'm iffy because i think my art ain't that great.

I wrote a comic about a police cadet and in current years a lot of young people are 100% anti-police stories even if they are in a fantasy world. It has left me a bit stuck as a creator and sort of makes me nervous to even advertise my work. And I am putting my series on hiatus because I don't really know what else to do. I started the comic seven years ago, and I think it might be best if I work on something else that would be less controversial.

Dude do what you love honestly yes there is a lot of controversy around it but why should and since when has society stopped art? Art can shape society and society can shape art. Who shapes who in your view is your choice. Just remember the only true person who stands in your way is you.

I haven't posted enough to have a full on OH NO moment but in one of my comics there's two main characters, and I've seen a number of comments that have assumed they're just going to be a couple. It's probably because its a girl and a boy(who is a frog) and people just assume girl+boy hanging out equals romance but....that's not where it's going and we're not far enough in to the part where its clear that's not where their friendship is going. However, just to clear it up a litttleeeee bit better I did change the dialogue on an upcoming page because it could be taken in several different ways and I needed it to be clear IT WAS NOT ROMANTIC. IDK if I did it correctly but we'll see when it posts It's my own fault for just being so committed To that they're only friends that I forgot other people might see different anahaha

I've been working on my comic gor 4 years, rebooting it multiple times, the current version hopefully does not have too many plot holes, but back in my first version...

You see, I like to plan in advance what I will write, so I had a bunch of word documents with the plot of eache chapter written down. When I write a chapter, I pick the corresponding word file and base myself on whatever is written inside.

Except I misnamed one of the files and ended up writing and posting the wrong chapter at the wrong time. And that chapter had some big events with huge consequences, meaning I couldn't write the earlier missing chapters afterwards.

It was very frustrating, but I was too stubborn to remove it and start again lol

I had something like that happen with a novel I was writing. Some of the readers were starting to ship the two female mcs even though I didn't intend to have them get together. The fact one of them was hinted at being gay early on probably didn't help.
Then I had a beta reader say that the gay character flirting with her friend's brother while training was unnecessary and I was like "They weren't flirting??"
Had to go back to see how much of the dialogue I had to change haha.

I have similar issues where sometimes I have to check to make sure characters weren't "flirting" because I'm just very ace with no game and most conversations I write to be friendly could potentially be taken as flirting haaaaaaaa

Ace as well, so this is a huge mood XD.
Sometimes it's hard to tell what sounds platonically friendly and what's "This person is totally attracted to this person! Really!"

I really like to write deep friendships just as much as deep romance but sadly most mainstream media tends to treat friendship as just a step below or just a means of an end to reach romance. I really want to write stories where romance and friendships are equal...however I don't know if most readers agree so there's bound to be more incidents like this on the way as I publish my comics

Romance is nice, but it would nice to see friendships be considered just as valid as romantic relationships more often in mainstream media.

Guess can never really tell how readers will view something, so can only hope for the best XD

When I wrote the script and it reached over 200 episodes, then I realized that the main character didn't appear for the past 100. Pain.
