I love your story. Overall, I had a good experience on the free sites, even though my work never gained mainstream success. I made friends and good stories to read. It is a good place to be.

Obviously, better is the enemy of good, and I want wider audience, but on most days I can manage not being famous yet.

Can’t complain about Trapped, but the Werewolf story is not doing well. I find it a bit silly that I ended up with a teen werewolf story ‘for myself’, but it’s a cute story and I like it and you never know. I didn’t give up on myself as a writer yet, but I am getting closer.

I think I was spoiled by Trapped. It started hitting over 100 views per day after the first week, and didn’t stop till the end, while the Werewolf keeps sliding under 50. It also never pushed into trending or popular, while Trapped somehow still does once in a while.

Aha, I think i was dreaming about those 50K reads for so long on Wattpad, and i calculated that 50-100 views per day takes me there in the ‘before I kick the bucket from the old age’ so I always feel down when I don’t hit that range.

Yeah, that’s why it is so exciting that I can get the views on Trapped here. It’s just so amazing after being stonewalled on the Wattpad.

Before I left WP, I remember one of my stories was like 1K and the others were only a couple hundred views. I'm almost at 3K reads now. Sci-Fi isn't a super popular genre for webnovels. I'm grateful.

Yeah, my views vs Wattpad are crazy high here too. I’ve tried a few genres there, even historic mystery (!), probably the only book I just gave up on.

With sci-fi, I am a bit sore on that subject, because I tried so hard to organize sci-fi writers into a community there, but their eagerness to complain about nobody reading their books was directly proportional to their unwillingness to read other sci-fi. It’s like people who like writing sci-fi, hate reading sci-fi or something. Lol

I no longer post on Wattpad, I just go there to participate in my old book club. Once Watty cycle is over, I consider taking down a couple of my books, depending on how I feel. It’s obviously not something to do as a knee-jerk reaction. It is probably better to just leave it be...

I honestly don’t know at this point.

One day I want to start editing She Kills like yesterday and fight for agents’ recognition, the next day I think ‘omg, you are stupid, it’s junk’, and want to let it die on Wattpad and keep writing and posting new books.

I'm a few chapters ahead of my latest upload. But the chapter im currently working on has to be split, which I was slightly annoyed about but the words just keep coming and I look at a previous paragraph and I'm like 'oh i'll add this and then that can go in here too' and the words just keep adding up xD The second part is currently on 889 words

I found this with the wattpad community in general, I gave up on there eventually just kept updating my novel on tapas cause I felt like the community and readers were just nicer and more engaging.

Gosh, yeah. I end up splitting so many chapters... but it’s good. people can always sub and wait for the whole story or a batch of chapters if they prefer
