So, not sure if it's going to work, but I am used to chatting about what's up in my WIP, and snags or wins, and keeping word count and stuff. If you are like me, please, join me. Otherwise, I guess, the thread is dead... lol.

Anyway, I am working right now on a new story, a YA, soft BL, werewolf with a present-day component and, later on, an ancient times component.

I just finished off a chapter with an awkward length, 1.1 K words that is hard to either divide or keep together... argh. And i don't want to expand the 2 scenes that make it up either.

Total word count is 4.2K words.

Can I post updates to my NANO prep here too?

I've got my MCs mostly figured out!! I'm working on fleshing out my side characters in my free time!

I just finished up chapter 55 which ended on page 90! I want to finish up the bonus episode I'm writing currently next, since I'm only 3 subs away from the 100 sub goal! The bonus episode is gonna be about how the two MC's met and provide some context about their childhood friend Alex. (Who does become a sorta important in the main story)

I'm close to finishing up ch.19 of "Red Shift"! Pretty excited to pan back to Uxas/Suli and show what the Prince is up to hehehe. I'm content with the depth I've gave the other two main characters (Steppenwolf and Stellar) in the last few chapters. It all ties together, after all. :heartbeat:

I wrote 2.5k words today
I think that's the first time in two months for that amount
And book 2 went over 28k words today and made my bonus chapter
it's been a good day

@domisotto 1.1k is very good as a chapter for here on tapas you can just leave it as it is. I have chapter varying from 250 to 2800 words

I finished my ch 11 the other day and started 12 yesterday. Ch 11 is currently at about 6.6k words and I’m about 880 words into the new chapter.

I am psyching my self out about the number of chapters I have so far. Right now, I am working on chapter 14, and pace-wise, I've been okay. I started the end of August on this piece and each chapter is between 1K - 1.5K words, which isn't bad. I'm just not sure how long it should be. The other pieces were roughly 25K to 30K.

The other thing that's making me go :triumph: is that I need to break up two characters but I NEVER wrote a scene where they decide to be bf/gf or at least when they have their first official "date". They've just always been together. (Sigh...) I have a couple ideas on how to work it, so it should be fine.

The books I'm uploading are done

I'm mostly wringing my hands until October when it's time to prep for NaNo.

Yeah, but I kinda wanna focus on uploading and building an audience on here right now.

I am hoping to be closer to 700-1K range, because I feel it is a YA book. But I am going to not try to obsess over it, because otherwise, I think, the balance of scenes is good. But, I won’t know it till I am posting.

For me, carving out time to write has always been the issue. I work and lot and stay very busy on my days off. I only have a few things scheduled for today, so if I can carve out time for writing anything -- even a single sentence -- I'll let you know.

For sure! And, i think, pretty much everyone deals with the time crunch in this crazy world.

Getting a good balance of scenes in this piece is really important to me. I know I've underwritten a lot in the past because I didn't want to waste time describing a room or location that was going to be referenced once in the entire piece. Now, I trying to just enjoy my work and the story more

Yes, me too. At some point, I just cut myself some slack, stop doubting and go with it. Like, no, I don’t write hard-core cruel stories about harsh people or realities. Well, there is nothing I can do about it, even if it’s unpopular.

Currently writing a sci-fi short story. 29 pages and 13933 words written.
