I was just developing a new side character today that fits this pretty well. Her name is Salib (which is just Basil rearranged, most of the character names are related to some sort of food) She belongs to a tribe that lives in a forest (in a fictional world), so I picture her with a rich brown skin tone and bright hair. I haven't quite decided the color, but I picture her having beautiful curly hair, but she normally wears it in a braid down to her waist. She is a warrior for her tribe, so she is muscular and typically wears men's clothing because they are more practical. Originally, she wasn't even in the plan at all, but her husband appears frequently as he is the male leads best friend so I figured he deserved someone too 
Her husband is shorter than her though and I think it'll be cute. A little excerpt I wrote today during an interaction with the main character.
- Before Kora could think of a reply, Jolfri joined the two of them and immediately pulled Sal closer before placing a kiss on her cheek. With their height difference, Jolfri needed to reach up to kiss her, but he did so effortlessly as he pulled her in closer. As their bodies melded together, Kora looked away feeling as though she was intruding on their private moment.
