Hey there!
I totally get what you mean by feeling alone. I also feel alone in my work too, as I am doing something that no one has tried on tapas. If you want more inspiration, here is my surreal comic. It is all traditional art: https://tapas.io/series/IDOL-Recalled-To-The-Light
I have looked at your comic and I love the gorgeous black and white art. It is very similar to a Grimm's Fairy tale (I'm thinking the Girl Without Hands, the Three Snake Leaves, or the Juniper Tree).
If you want to get more surreal, I suggest you watch a lot of movies. Belladonna of Sadness is one I recommend, and Neco Z Alenky is another. Both have gorgeous art styles, with dark and macabre storylines. I also suggest that you don't think. Don't think or care, just draw. Cut off contact with everything and just do what you think is good. Experiment on every page and add a tactileness to your art. For example, you can scan a piece of cardboard, and use that as a background in your digital art. I also recommend the book An Illustrated Life by Danny Gregory because it shows actual images of famous artist's sketchbooks. Very helpful for inspiration.
I also have some things you should avoid as a surrealist. Avoid becoming like David Lynch. I know everyone likes him, but the thing is he tries too hard and doesn't add substance to his characters. Have some visual metaphors but don't have the book be all metaphor and symbolism. There needs to be some sense in your dreams and some realism. But also refrain from explaining everything.
Another thing to consider is to be provocative but not vulgar. Have something that will disturb us but disturb us for a reason. Make everything matter.
Lastly, add some light. Every yin needs a yang and a story cannot be too dark. Like the Addams Family was dark, but Gorey also focused on the relationships between characters and even had some scenes be funny. Try experimenting with humor.
Alright! Those are my two cents and I hope these will help you. Good luck!
