As a kid i liked to look at movie essays on youtube and alot of critics where talking about lolita (film) and i decided to watch it. Oh my gravy i should not have watched that movie. No no no. If you are under the age of 16 id advise you to not even look at that movie without some one older with you, explaining to you the mature subjects in this film and how and why they are wrong. Seriously dont watch it unless your mature enough.

I usually laugh at modern horror movies because most of them are just recycled, cheesy plots with excessive bloody shock value and SFX. If people want real disturbing shit, they should watch this or any old horror films that use psychological elements to induce fears.

It was indeed a twisted film (shouldn't be rated PG) although I cracked up while watching the trailer. The narrator's voice ruined it.

My Dad was a Hero in bringing back the weirdest movies. He also managed to let us watch the Watership when we were kids, too. And yellow submarine, and at the same tome some weird movies with people that were smaller than real people and enslaved, in the same animations style as submarine.
What a strange childhood.

I think some of the weirdest was Rubber, A movie about an emotional, murderous, sexual preditor Tire. And that Russian movie about Ghosts, but I don´t remember the name.

Rubber is pretty out there, when it comes to weird as fuck movies. Old boy was also mentioned. A good movie, I think, but weird nonetheless.

When it comes to "funny weird" I think "Roboter der Sterne" (Robot of the stars) is one of the more bizarre ones I have seen. It's a film cobbled together out of a japanese TV show with no budget at all. The effects get repeated over and over again and look like a kid playing with toys in a bathtub, the acting is hilariously hokey and the story makes no sense. But the best part? The german dub. I wouldn't be surprised if the voice actors didn't even have a script. It's just bad puns, references to german cities, that couldn't have been in the original, and deliberate misreading of lines. It's a mess. Trash at its finest.

When it comes to disturbing weird, I have to go with Possession from 1981 starring Sam Neill and Isabelle Adjani. It never even got translated over here and I hear it was banned in the US for a long time as well.

This movie is just... exhausting. People constantly yelling, no story, just madness that somehow escalates into murder and tentacle porn ... of all things. This movie has no story and I am still torn if it has something to say at all. It just seems like pretentious, annoying madness to me. But it has an impact. You just want this bizarre mess to stop and finally start making sense.

Damn, I love Possession. It really has an impact, yeah!
It's definitely an open movie. It's a really sexual one as well, to me. Weirdly emotional.

If you're not 100% sour about the whole Max Landis shitstorm, he did a Trailers From Hell of the movie that it's concise and 'clear', in a way.

Funky Forest. (Known as Naisu no mori: The First Contact) (2005)

It's a collection of surreal short... Japanese humour-style stories. No plot. Full of insanity like a weird dream that you don't know if you should laugh or not. Some shorts are boring, some are too short and too fast, some makes you question if the creators are high on something.

Eraserhead (1977)

"A film that defies conventional logic and storytelling, fueled by its dark nightmarish atmosphere and compellingly disturbing visuals. Henry Spencer is a hapless factory worker on his vacation when he finds out he's the father of a hideously deformed baby. Now living with his unhappy, malcontent girlfriend, the child cries day and night, driving Henry and his girlfriend to near insanity."

The effects are old, it's black & white. But it's great in its weirdness.

I can't even describe what I remember of them since they're so weird. All I could said at the end was "Huh?"

I love David Lynch. Have you seen his other movies? Inland Empire is even more confusing than Eraserhead to me, if you can believe it

Well, I wouldn't have expected anyone to find this movie "funny". Heinrich kinda is, but that is as far as I would go ^^ For me it is just an exhausting watch. While I sometimes like a good artsy film, there is a point when openness to interpretation crosses the line for me. In this case I am left wondering if the director has anything to tell at all, or made a film about vague concepts just to have an excuse to be weird. There is a place for films like that, but that is not my DVD shelf ^^

Oh, and while we are at weird movies about relationships and full of sexual themes: there is "Antichrist" from Lars von Trier, which I find easier to analyse in it's weirdness, but reeeeeally dislike

@Jenny-Toons Seeing the Yellow Submarine brings back a lot of memories watching it on VHS as a kid, we happened to get it at one of those pawn shops and still have it.

I think the strangest to me was Labyrinth with David Bowie. I'm sure people look back at it as being something unique but watching it for the first time during the last few weeks of school in an English class or something was an interestingly bizarre experience. Everyone was either amused or out right dumbfounded while the teacher just watched with this kind of enamored expression. Still it was interesting to say the least

Follow ups would probably be Food Fight and a good bunch of movies I've seen pop up with reruns of Svengoolie, Elvira and that one movie review show with the guy and his robot puppets(?) MeTv has shed a light on classics I probably would've never sought out myself.
