Hi All

Just wondered if anyone had any observations in respect of the above: have you had more success on one platform as opposed to the other? Why do you think that is?

Cheers

There is actually a lot of already existing threads for this topic, here's a few:

The only difference is how much exposure you get.
A while back, Tapas gave smaller comics a lot more visibility than Webtoon.
This has now been reversed with Webtoon being your best bet if you're trying to build an audience.
Also, depends on whether you get featured or not.
I have no idea what they look for when featuring.

I can't speak on Webtoons as I've never posted there (tho that will change soon) but I know that Tapas happened to share this [Tapas Insider] thread which gave some insight as to what metrics Tapas uses when curating it's staff picks

Now there's obviously going to be differences in what the audience is looking for on each platform as to the site/staff themselves but it is a good metric in terms of overall quality and personal presentation

I'm counting the days until I'm banned from WebToons for drawing butts.

I had a page pulled down by Webtoon the other day.
They were pretty helpful though and managed to have the page up again about 1/2 hour after I messaged them back.
They are a lot more lax than some other platforms that try to pass themselves as censorship free.

Good thing then, I was just posting there for kicks and giggles, but if I can manage to keep the content up, even better.

In my experience, readers over on webtoon don't have a very good tolerance for traditional comic pages. I get around this by posting two pages at once so the updates don't feel so short, but you'll be best off posting in scrolling format. Tapas readers don't seem to mind it, though! Ive only had readers complain on webtoon, they're just accustomed to everything being a scrolling comic.

Yep!
Banned already. Unless your content is suited for middle aged house wives, be very wary

I don't seem to have that issue.
Mind you, being a gag comic, a self contained page is what you'd expect, I guess.

OOF! That was quick!

Problem with webtoon is they are very restrictive - there are a lot of limitations to what one can do.
... And, not to mention, they don't do Novel's.:cry::sob:
