How big is the difference between the old and the remastered versions?
My belief is you shouldn't hide the best version of your work behind a paywall, unless the project itself is supposed to be behind a paywall (like a premium series). My reasoning has nothing to do with "comics should be free! How dare you charge money for your hard work!" so hear me out!
IMO it sabotages your own Patreon success. Webcomic Patreons typically (though not always) attract people who want to support you for the comic they can read for free, as opposed to people who want the reward. The best way to attract those people is to post the best comic you can make, out there in the public where it can be read for free.
You can still post stuff like high res versions, early access, etc. exclusively for your Patrons!
Of course, this is coming from someone who has yet to break the $100 mark after years, so take it with a grain of salt
