Do you guys put music in your comics/novels?

Do you guys ever put music in your Comics/Novels? Do you think it helps set the mood of your episode or do you find that it'll distract your readers. I put one music track on this chapter of my novel and i had to find one that fits the tone of the chapter as it is a fight scene. But what do you guys think about about this topic?

Ps the music track i used in this chapter is Waka's Theme from Okami (love that game)

Not always, but a lot. I just found out my friend “André” put his music up on Soundcloud, so those songs are coming out in Chapters 54 and 57!

If anybody has suggestions for the chapters I don't have songs with yet, I'd love to hear them!

No, because I don't have a comic. But boy howdy, I would put music in- I plan to go the extra step and make it myself, in fact. I'm all for it. Don't expect a lot of people to actually listen to it though, few seem to actually like the inclusion on here. (Mostly from people just blatantly using anime openings and not matching the tone of the reading material, based on what I read.) If you're gonna just find music to play in the background, that's fine. For someone like me.. potentially a wasted effort???

Also Tapas has no link for the readers to go check out the music like it did before the big update, which is a downgrade. I've mentioned it before on the feedback thread for the site, but with being a minor complaint from one guy.. I doubt they'll do anything about it soon

I like that they don't link directly back to the music. If someone really likes André's music, they'll go out of their way to find it, but if they just want to harass him for associating with me due to my controversial subject matter, that wouldn't be cool.

I don't own the copywrite to the music I would use and would not use another artists work without permission, and don't make my own so no.

i put the name of the soundtrack in the description of that chapter. i didn't copyright music that has lyrics in it. i would mainly use battle music in my novel but only certain ones.

The way I see it, since I'm not making any money on my story, recommending a song is just like recommending it on social media. If anything, it will only help boost the artist's popularity. Sharing a link will get them more views, and who doesn't want more views?

Reprinting lyrics without permission is more dicey. You could claim "fair use" if you wanted, but I feel it's better safe than sorry in most cases.

I have a cultivated playlist on Spotify for my comic. Every song is relevant to characters, story arcs, and themes present in the canon. But people have showed no interest in it really so I stopped sharing it. Probably because 98% of the songs are Metal, and well...as I've discovered, it's not something most people enjoy xD.

I've also started on writing a few theme songs for it too. But they're not complete yet and it's slow going because I'm not good with composing music.

Sometimes yes! I do! I wish SoundCloud wasn't the only option because most of the selections I use happen to be on youtube, especially for the more situational moments.

I use it often, and my readers enjoy it because the music I choose tends to fit the genre of the novel. Country Music is my top choice for music
