Do you guys use art-breed in your work?

Is it easier for you to create portraits of your characters with Artbreeder to help yourself with describing them or presenting them to readers? Ever since the dashboard updates, which include inserting images into novels, I don't worry so much about will my readers see the way I envisioned the characters when I created them, yet I fear I spoil their own interpretations.

Nope, because I draw my own characters. I rather let my readers be free in envisioning my world, I have my art of course rot guide them with, but I wouldn't want to dictate their whole experience.

Since I started as an artist, I usually have more concrete ideas of what my main cast looks like. Plus I like drawing them so I'd definitely need a base reference! I don't necessarily show my readers what they look like outside of my novel's cover/banner/thumbnails, and instead keep all my illustrations just on my social accounts. But they can definitely check it out if they want, and I describe my characters as best I can in the text without getting too specific.

I tried Artbreeder but I found it too hard to finagle to get what I specifically want. The starting femme faces are too femme and I didn't want to waste time procreating female children from masc male faces to get a decent result. Don't even get me starting on finding the right facial hair. xD

All in all, I prefer my results from morphthing.com which I then cleaned up on photoshop.
Morphthing essentially combines two photos together to get an average, I used celebrities for mine and then photobashed some of it further.

First of all, I am in love with Delyana and that's 100% how I imagine her from your description!

Secondly, I am no writer, but I found it extremely cool.
It's actually really fun to create my characters in a photorealistic manner, because my art is far from it. I haven't made any characters from the existing comics yet, because I am taking time creating my oldest OCs ^^

I'm intrigued by Artbreeder, but I've rarely used it. It sounds like a godsend for character profiles and new character generation, though.

My friend used it to make a fast-and-easy anime girl cover for their weird comedy: Sometimes Artbreeder's anime girls look kinda weird -- like they have obvious artifacting somewhere -- but this one looks pretty good!
