Do you have an alter ego when you create your webcomic?

"An alter ego (Latin for "other I") means an alternative self, which is believed to be distinct from a person's normal or true original personality."

I have multiple alter Egos for creative work. It helps me a lot to switch into a different role.
I´m not talking about a pseudonym, artist/screen name. Puck is my nick name since I was a kid
and also the artist name I use the most.

Do you have one? Why do you have it and do you use it for your webcomic?

When I write, I fell like 3rd person watching others, that I write about, like if I'm in universe where my characters are, but doesn't interfere with. While that universe can be anything (Medieval, Fiction Fantasy world, Futuristic or even normal world) .

Totally! As Kitsuneko/Kittyfox, I'm not really afraid to be myself, and just in general, making my comic is a really helpful way to cope with stress and express myself. Having this persona on the internet and creating stuff under its name that isn't directly associated with my real life feels comforting, in a way.

Pilot is my alter ego. She is just like me, but much more confident and much less anxious. Having this persona/alter ego/alias has honestly done wonders for me. I'm not as afraid to put my work out there and be more like my true self.

Well to be honest. I do not have an altered personality or ego. I just roleplay my character deep.

Every time some of my characters say or do something I play them and act like them, to make sure that they stay in character and that they feel real.

But me, I’m me in whatever I do.

No Red. Every time you say something it is you saying it as the character I made you to be.

And every time you say that I’m a goof is just me telling the world that I’m too cool to get mad about people calling me names

Because I am what I am and I stay comfortable in myself.

I am a neon pink and purple, 80cm kobold called Djourner in real life.

But for real, this is kind of what a persona is. I roleplay the person I want to be, and since most of my friends are also people like me, it has come to a point where the man behind the Djourner is largely unknow, and more people have know me like this than the real me... And honestly I prefer that, i tottaly get why artists like Yoko taro, the guys from daftpunk, or gorillaz prefer not to show their faces.

if you're asking about an in world persona that exists inside the story we're telling, that I can say I do not.
My characters tell their story, I don't have anything to do with it personally... I don't even agree with them most of the time, I just write what they think xD

You need to be able to become the person that you are writing, to make that person believable.
And sometimes I even have doubts when I do, I have to put myself aside and break the barrier to say stuff with meaning as that character without even have any personal common.

Well, whenever I write meta stuff where my characters are interacting with me, I depict myself with a persona named A.G., who is basically me but more obnoxiously cheerful and trollish. My characters don't like her much, haha.

Online I’m very confident chatting with people etc, but in rl I’m very nervous and shy and quiet - at least until I know I can trust someone.

So my alter ego is the confident functioning adult I wish I was. Lol!

I used to when I was younger. ^^ 'MC Doki' was fun and cool and always had a new story to tell, or a new idea to share.

Now that I'm older though (and I've ironed out most of the kinks in my self-image) I think that was and is always me. It's just that 'IRL Doki' never has a chance to show it.
No one ever asks her about her art (except to know how far along it is and/or demand to know why she isn't making money off of it yet...). No one really cares about anything she does for herself, outside of work (which I don't have at the moment) and school (which I'm no longer in)...

Fortunately I'm an introvert, so my life isn't the bland, isolated hell that it probably sounds like, at least not in terms of quality. =/ But it does mean that, right now, the only chance I get to actually use my personality is in online spaces like this, when I'm talking about comics and art.

Well I guess my alter ego is in fact "Double" and is a much more confident and honest person than I am . I'm not too open in life and I tend to be veeery shy and awkward in public, though I'm much more outgoing with my friends and family of course.

No alt here, but mostly cuz my real name sounds fake. I've built modeling and acting off of it too. When writing I just feel like I'm watching a movie and reporting what is going on. Well, when the idea is fully developed. If it's not fully developed it looks like stick figures repeating pointless actions in my head.
