Understanding, if just because I consider my own life pretty boring to write about, lol. That isn't to say I don't ever put any of myself into my characters, though. I don't usually do it intentionally, but there have been plenty of times where I'm writing character dialogue and I start thinking, …

There's been a villain concept who's been floating around in my drafts for years, who I've been affectionately referring to as "the greed guy," who didn't quite end up fitting into my final draft. Maybe someday I'll throw him into a spinoff or something, lol.

Correct. It has to be all in a single month.

Ad revenue is quite low. @jwabeasley said it was around 500 impressions in one month for a single cent: https://forums.tapas.io/t/ads-revenue-bragging/87798/9?u=amysgames

First time? :stuck_out_tongue: [image] [image] omw to make them in Sims 4 just to complete the set

Gonna stop you right there, because the only way to "guarantee" views is bots, and ain't no one wants that, lol.

Misunderstood the question at first since I don't write in a word processor that typically shows page count, lol. Quickly converting them, looks like the average is between 10 and 20, because I write descriptions and dialogue for every panel. As for what I originally assumed, since I draw in page …

I have a lot of selfies of myself in specific poses for art purposes. Can vouch for this method, haha.

I'm very bad at commenting tbh. And liking for that matter; I usually only bother to like if the episode was particularly memorable. I should probably be better about it because I enjoy getting that kind of interaction as an author, haha. On the other hand, it's a little reassuring to remember tha…

Chishiki and Yukai are 15: [image] While Jikyuu and Aijou are 17: [image] The villains trend older, where Malice is 39 and Rose is 21: [image] I don't really have a "criteria" for their ages. Usually I just pick numbers based on vibes, lol.

If you think it's better for the story to have them out of order, go for it. It might get a little confusing if you jump around too much, though.

My primary tip for gaining subscribers is patience. Most of us aren't going to get tons of subs overnight; just keep putting your work out there and people will trickle in.

You'll have to read it to find out

Definitely my favorite panel so far, both aesthetically and lore-wise: [image]

I have been informed that Chishiki's mom is iconic [image] [image] (They have a good relationship even if Chishiki gets embarrassed easily)

Seems like about 150 = 1 cent? But then it changed in June? [image]

Shoutout to the days when ad rev was actually moderately useful. I miss those days. [image]

Scroll format is more popular these days because it looks better on mobile. But it looks awful on desktop, so I prefer page format. :stuck_out_tongue:

I prefer desktop because I'm old-fashioned, lol. But apparently the vast majority of Tapas' readerbase uses the app. (Might be why so few of them are on these forums...)

As someone who also tends to overthink negative feedback, I totally get it. It's hard when people react negatively to something you've put so much of yourself into. I honestly rarely go out of my way to ask for critique because I know I spiral too easily, lol. A few things to keep in mind: Good…

I was realizing recently that I have surprisingly few specifically red-haired characters, lol. Maybe I should change that? Anyway, Jikyuu: [image]

Quite a few of my OCs don't have last names. Last names are usually the telltale sign that I'm in too deep. :stuck_out_tongue:

I have so many characters, send help Serious answer, I've written a lot of stories over the years, some of which end up with a huge amount of characters just from the type of story it is (e.g. stories with expansive worldbuilding). Most of them only really exist within the context of the scene tha…

I can't say I've seen this particular advertising technique used much, haha. If your whole gimmick is relying on those sorts of tropes (like romance novels often are), then it'd probably be fairly effective. For me personally, I don't think a list of tropes like this would describe my comic very acc…

There was someone a while ago who made a userscript to help filter out the spam, which I've been using ever since: https://forums.tapas.io/t/i-made-a-userscript-which-improves-the-inbox-button-and-notifications/83151

I'd say it depends on the context. For example, if it's a dialogue tag: "This is awful," she groaned softly. ...Then I would agree with your editor, as "groaned" becomes the replacement for "said" in this context. If you want to use the other one, then it should be separated from the dialogue wi…

A lot of my childhood OCs are my current OCs. :stuck_out_tongue: That said, this one blew my mind: in the first comic I ever drew with Sanori (protagonist of my old comic, Aiiro No Kunoichi), there were some generic NPCs who were apparently supposed to be Sanori's friends. And even though the character didn't exist…

I'm back, babey It is said that every 1,000 years, a dark energy is unleashed upon the world, possessing the minds of certain people and turning them into powerful villains. It is up to four girls, with the power of the Niji Chikara, to purge this darkness from them and keep their world safe. But …

I would argue that most webcomics don't get more than a few readers for their entire runtime. It's a competitive industry. :stuck_out_tongue: Anyway, the things that keep me motivated are: Those few readers. A lot of my readers are friends who I know care about my characters even if no one else does. My own inte…

I've been writing pretty much since the moment I was able to hold a pencil, lol. Some of my earliest memories involve making "books" with help from my mom. I think I started writing fanfics at around 6 or 7, some of which were eventually adapted into original stories that I still write about to th…
