Do you just want some support as an artist?

Whether it be on DeviantArt, Tapas or Webtoons, are you simply looking for support?

Are you okay with the amount of support you have now?

If you aren't satisfied with the amount of support you have now, what methods are you planning to use so that you can get even more support?

Could you also post your comic so I can see it, I can maybe even give a sub

The question here would be, what do you consider as support?
Some people refer to it as specific areas of engagement, be it likes, comments, or sharing. Others to the financial aspect of the support, be it donations or being hired for ther services.

On my end, support is simply... having a job.
I really don't mind getting less than 20 likes on my work or even less than 10, as well that I don't bother much about increasing my numbers, I've had the same amount of followers on all my social media for more than 4 years so... idk I'm pretty chill about that.

Since I'm mostly an artist for hire I don't currently have any webcomic that I'm working on that is mine. But feel free to check the stuff I did.
The only series that is ongoing is Scarlet Society by Addie French

I really like this question. We can all receive "support" on our projects but it also depends on the support we receive. We can receive all the likes and shares from tons of people who aren't really reading or trying to understand the story we are making which would boost our egos but wouldn't really help us progress in the craft we are doing. Now, if we had one person that comments something about the project/chapter/picture that tells us, "Oh, wow... Someone actually read the chapter!" Lol, it'll be a lot different and we can all benefit from that. I'd argue I'd like more support from the latter than the former because I'd be able to tell what is clicking with the readers and what's not since I have around 20-something readers who aren't as engaged in the content. As far as getting more support... I'd just say start reaching out to more like-minded individuals who want to grow and perfect their craft as I do. I'm not going to share my comic here though since I'm reworking.

Hmm like RedLenai said, it really depends on how you define support? I guess for myself, I'd say it would be cool to have more people who genuinely like and engage in my content but I do art as a hobby for the most part so I don't think I would need support. I mean, if people want to toss money in my direction and say "draw more of your ocs!!!" yeah I'd definitely take the support lol
since art is a hobby, I wouldn't really spend the extra time and energy using a "method" to get more support, but maybe others in the forum would have insight on that

But overall, I'd always be happy to have more 'supporters'? Dunno if I answered your question

I’m just here for some company to be honest.

The only art buddies I had were at university, and they’ve all gone their separate ways or just don’t draw anymore.

I love chatting to creators here and seeing what they are working on.

While i would greatly appreciate being able to receive consistent financial support and honest engagement beyond just likes or shares I think it'd also be nice to really connect and form community. Having something where folks can talk about mutual interests like here but also really engage with progress on individual projects with exchanges of tips, feedback and advice or just general encouragement.

But relating to general interaction or money based support I feel blessed for what I've gotten already, I just hope it can continue to grow even as the creative landscape evolves and changes

I would like to have support both in honest engagement and also in a monetary sense. I have a dream of publishing my novel one day, so I was hoping to raise some funds for editor proof readers etc so I can realize my dream one day. And having that fan base just assures me further that what I am doing now is worth it. Does it make any sense?

Hmm... like everyone says, it depends on how you define "support". I define support as an audience in my case. I consider people who engage with my content as supporters, even if they don't follow or subscribe!

Am I okay with the support I have now? Does it make sense if I say I'm satisfied but strive for more? Haha.

I'm not creative enough to find ways to promote my work. I can only focus on making better content each time and hope more people enjoy my work more.

Personally? I'm supported by my delusions of grandeur

I'd love attention and engagement, but I personally don't like to see it as 'support'; it makes me feel like my audience is a crutch that I have to lean on in order to keep going. I wanna feel like I'm the one doing you a favour by making my comic, goddammit XD

Friends. Friends is a big one for me.

Financially would be nice to consistently keep doing it since I can't work.

I love it when any like or comment I get from my work. It really shows support for what I am sharing my creativity and make me feel I have been giving back to readers or fans enjoy what I'm creating. Also I feel supporting other creators benefits me and them for giving support that makes me feel awesome for enjoying what they create. I think supporting goes both ways. honestly yea, it feels like every website is against artists rn so its hard to get your name out there as a smaller creator
I feel like I should've started a decade ago when the environment wasn't this difficult
Cause right now the best thing we can do is boost each other up as creators and hype up each others stories, but that's difficult too.

Primarily a thing which I noticed lately is how me seeking to get praised from my stuff basically goes all back to my childhood when we as children never received any kind of praise for anyhing. It took me until now to realize why I even started posting my art online 16 years ago. It was because I wanted to be praised for something I was proud of, since my own family never gave me any nice word I did seek that from others, who actually gave me plenty of that and that's to all of them I never stopped doing what I loved the most
