Google translate works just fine for that-
You can switch to camera mode and depending on the language it will either provide an on demand translation or you can take a pic and it will scan and translate the word.

The translations are terrible but you'll more or less get the gist of it lol.

(meanwhile i just end up learning the languages so i can avoid the situation lol)

Cool, I have no idea we can use google translate for this.
Do you have tutorial or guide? 🤩

I think it's only for the app version of google translate but you basically just tap "camera" and point your camera to the image and it would translate the text with arguable efficiency.

If you can get the comic in a pdf format you can upload it directly onto the google translate website but clicking on the "documents" section

Oops, I use the PC web browser, not app
Any alternative beside google translate?

google ocr text... there are various programs for it. the one i use is capture2text, it works well as long as the text is clear and printed, not handwritten (that one's important, sadly), and it's completely free.
it does have a built-in translate feature, but for translation itself it does use google :joy: i don't think it can get much better unless you have an actual human translator to help you.

I use Chrome on my desktop and it always offers to translate pages here on Tapas that are in different languages and does the same for images on facebook and other websites.

I write comics in other languages. I do my best to have english and spanish available for all my series. Though I have one that's also in Chinese (simplified) and Korean.

The Google Translate mobile apps supports camera input.
