Hi!
Today I found a mine gold in twitter about maps, and thought it would be in the best interest of the comic community to share my nenwfound data with all of you.
So, about what this is? About MAPS. You need a city, here you will find some tools to create one -EVEN IN 3D MODELS, IN SOME CASES! So read below, and leave a comment if you have more tools!
1.-Tile Exporter
You want some easy 3D obj for your backgrounds? Go to tile exporter, search for your ideal location and download. The obj can be thrown inside Clip Studio Paint -once there you need to turn it 90° so you can travel safely, but its a minor inconvinence. You need to fill windows and such, but as you have 3D rulers, that is no problem.
2.-Map to Globe
Need to create a new -but easy- world? This page let you create a world in globe version, and you can download it as map, change some things, and upload it again to see the changes! You can play with resolution, water, landmass, etc. Very nice for worldbuilding! As said before, you can upload your own maps, so also if you want to check how would your maps look in 'a real globe', check here~
3.-City Generator
One of the strongest tools out there. You can push in the 'generate' button and you will create a full map for a modern city. You can play with the color of the layout, for a 'Silent Hill' map, you can play with the zoom, areas, rivers, add frames, etc. You can also download it on different formats, as PNG, or even STL for 3d! If you go for STL you will recieve some files that you have to put together on your 3D program of choice. The only problem (for me) is that this generator is too strong xD. The cities are too big and you can't change the size of the generated STL city, so you must delete buildings on your 3D program, and that may take a while. Still, one of the best out there, as you will only have to edit one time the city, and you will have a city forever. As well as Tile Exporter, the buildings will lack definition, so you will have to add details, as windows, publicity, lamposts, etc, but that is part of the fun.
4.- Medieval Fantasy City Generator
You want your city more medieval? This generator creates the city of your middle times! You can play with city size, names, important buildings, etc.
Extra! - Watabou
From the medieval city generator, if you click on 'view all from watabou' it will lead you to a fantastic maze of generators. Mansion generator, cave generator, village generator. Some may not fit your style, but at least you can take the idea to create something from what you generate here.
