I'm genuinely curious because there are a few subtle differences between reading comics on desktop vs. phone app (i.e. ability to listen to BGM on Tapas while on desktop) and I wonder if anyone actually bothers to compare their reading experiences in either places.

... Also, as a creator, if no one reads from the desktop, then there's little to no point in catering to desktop users

Edit: Damnit! I accidentally wrote "Does you read..." instead of "Do you read..." because my previous title was "Does anyone actually read comics on desktop?" :joy: thank you to whoever edited that so i don't look like a dumb dumb

You forgot "I always read comics on desktop" because that's me (well, ~90% of the time).

Yes! Even on my phone I use safari, because the app can be a bit buggy (I heard it's being worked on currently so that's awesome). :+1:

I read comics strictly on desktop tbh :joy: (not that I read a lot, but okay)
I don't even have the app installed. If I do need to see something on tapas on mobile, I just use the browser...
Even if I wanted to change that - which I absolutely don't lol - I wouldn't be able to; I don't have wi-fi where I live and mobile data is pretty slow and limited for me, so anything image-heavy is a no. But I'm not bothered about it because honestly reading on desktop is just more comfortable. It doesn't strain my eyes and I can actually appreciate the artwork.

Yeah, I'm also someone who only reads on desktop.

I don't even read webcomics like those in tapas/webtoons, I mostly read published mangas, because I'm a weeaboo.

I only read Webtoons comics on the app. Mostly because I usually read manga and I prefer desktop for it (yay to big beautiful pictures), and when it comes to Tapas the app just works really bad on my phone since spring or so, but most comics I read here are in the page format anyway, so it's still better on desktop.

I use the phone mostly to read when I'm tired or outside home (or when I'm reading the Mature section lol)
The rest of the time I use desktop, specially if I want to see the details of the artwork.

Phone plans expensive, so yeah, I read on the desktop.

I read comic mostly on my laptop 95%, 5% on windows tablet, android tablet or phone (via webpage), but not from an app.

90% on phone but not through app. (my phone is basically app free). More practical, can read while commuting, but you do miss a lot on people’s art, so I often enlarge...

another for the primarily desktop readers, the only time i ever read on the app is for the wait for free comics i follow and that's it. desktop is a lot easier on my eyes and it's where i've done all my reading from the start

Yep, only on the desktop. I follow a lot of page format comics and novels as well so I want seem em big.

Mostly phone, sometimes iPad, sometimes desktop. More desktop now that I'm creating but when I was just reading comics I almost never read on my desktop.

I will read comics on my desktop before I read them on my iPad or phone. I have a larger sized monitor hooked up to my laptop, so reading comics on that is a joy.
