EH~!?!?! most are desktop~? maybe because most of here are creators~? im sure all readers are more into mobile~

Yeah, that's what I got from the poll as well. There's no way the majority of readers would be interested in watching mobile-framed comics on their 16:9 monitors.

Does the app link to the forum anywhere...? This could cause most of app-users not to even be aware of forums existence and simply never coming across this thread...

From what I can tell, there is no link to the forum on the Tapas app. Not to mention that I can't even access the forum from my phone: every time I try to log in, the app opens instead and won't let me do anything at all. So far the only phone browser that let me log in was Firefox Focus, and even then, had to mess with it quite a bit to be able to log in and, since the browser deletes all cookies once you close it, I would have to log in every single time I opened it. Not very feasible at all.

On the matter of reading mobile-framed comics on desktop: I... don't find it to be much of an issue at all? Granted, most of the comics I follow are in page format, but so far the ones I've seen that are made for mobile tend to have images uploaded at maximum size anyway, so it's not like they're blurry on desktop or whatever. Yes, it's a bit annoying because you have to scroll A LOT to get through a single update, but as for everything else, I never found it to be that different from regular comics in page format

Ditto this! I can never reply to the forums even from my phone so usually I either wait until I get on my laptop or answer through browser on my iPad. For some reason, browser-opened Tapas forum on the phone and on the iPad is different ;w; I hope they fix this soon!

Also, I don't like the slippery scrolling on the app (I think that's modifiable but I'm too lazy to search up how) so I just look at it from my iPad browser haha.

I prefer desktop due to the bigger screen, but if I'm not home, I'll read mobile. Since I'm more used to reading manga I have a preference towards traditional comic pages than the mobile variety. I really don't like endless scrolling, but I understand why most websites gravitate to it.

I'm more likely to read on my phone just because I have more free time in those moments, but sometimes I'll read a comic on my desktop. Although I'm more likely to read only a single update versus binge on my desktop.

Wanna know what's funny? After browsing and reading the 'shoved-aside' stories of unknown creators, I actually found them a lot more interesting than the 1000th romance story that is constantly advertised, promoted and sold on the mobile app.

Isn't the front page of the Tapas app the same as the front page of the Tapas desktop website? As in, they're all the same category with the same recommended comics/novels :hushed: What are the differences you've noticed?

Near-strictly a desktop reader. At least half the comics I read are vertical scroll (my own comic is vertical scroll!), and I greatly prefer them on desktop. I feel claustrophobic when I try to read on my phone.

That being said... Tapas as a place looks a lot better on the phone than it does on desktop. The desktop site also gives me a very annoying glitch (I think it's a glitch) that sends me to an older episode when I click on "new episode for a series you're subbed" notification. This, unfortunately, leads me to not read much on Tapas. I do most of my reading elsewhere, still on desktop.

Either this is a conflict with the mobile app, or you may scrolling too fast between chapters and the website isn't fast enough to register you've read the chapter (unless we're not talking one-page issues).

It could just as well be what you say - a glitch.

I use my phone when I'm out but at home I use my laptop. Usually it doesn't matter which platform I use, but if the comic's art is really detailed/ intricate I prefer my laptop's bigger screen.

I doubt it. I only use the app to read the comments on my own comic X'D and read other comics on desktop. And the episodes I get sent to are all different!

(The episode list/comment sidebar also won't stay closed for me, so yeah, my Tapas desktop experience does not seem exactly glitch-free. Apparently it's supposed to stay closed until you manually open it back again??)

I purely read desktop because I don't have cell-coverage where I live. If I did, I still would likely not read there anyways since I want to appreciate the artwork. Most of the ones I read are in page format anyways.

Mostly desktop, sometimes iPad, never phone. And always the full website - not the mobile version.

I always read on desktop. I tried the app but it loads so slow and I can't read the text on any comic (and I got some good eyes). Desktop lets me see the pretty art and actually read it.

I prefer reading on my desktop while I work!
In my opinion the poll shows most of us do, and it's because most people on the forums are creators. Many non-creators would prefer mobile...
