Do you read your own comics?

3) I uh...I kinda started writing this comic for myself anyway. I'm not saying it good, or that I love my own work, I'm just saying I am writing this story for myself to entertain myself and want to see it through to the end of the story. So...reading it myself is kinda the primary targe

I think that this is the secret of staying motivated.
My problem is that the comics that I want to read/write and draw are all NSFW 18+ stuff you can´t show
to anyone

I do read it, to remind myself that it's good haha cx when you focus just on drawing panel by panel and on small separate scenes it's easy to lose the sense of how the story feels as a whole. And with planning ahead and waiting for the cool scenes that you have yet to draw, it's easy to forget that earlier pages were just as enjoyable.
I usually do a re-read when I start feeling doubts and harsh criticising thoughts creep in. Then re-reading the story, all small funny scenes and seeing again how the puzzles come together helps in realising that it actually IS good enough

I generally reread my story to refresh memory and look for plots holes or errors. Sometimes I use it as a reference point to further develop characters and tie in story arcs.

From time to time, it reminds me about what I really like about it. Sometimes it can soothe the anxieties I might have about certain things not being right when I see it again, so I can say "oh, that was fine after all." And I feel like I can finally allow myself to retain a sense of pride.
I guess it's also just nice to finally enjoy seeing scenes and stories rehearsed mentally for a long time finally given a form me and my coauthor can enjoy together. It's one thing to talk about something for years and years on end and then finally give it life. I can say "hey, this is kind of a real thing now." Which is the next best thing to it actually happening.

Yes, but not deliberately to remember stuff or anything like that XD I just occasionally fall into rereading it, like if I'm searching my comic for a panel to post in a thread or smth, sometimes I'll just look at the next panel ... and the next ... and the next ...

Though usually I reread in the same way that I reread other people's webcomics, where I skim through most of it and just zero in on whichever scene I'm thinking about at the time, since I already know everything that happens before and after it, haha.

Haha when I fall into a reread session of my comic or someone else's, I tend to reread the whole thing from where I started, with absolutely no skimming or skipping XD

Like sometimes I'd go looking for a specific scene but misremembered the page number, and I'd get distracted by the plot at that point and I'll just be like 'screw it, I'll read until I catchup to the point I'm actually looking for' esp. for longer comics where I don't actually remember quite clearly what happens before and after it

Well you should! I'd say it's not arrogant to love your own work, but scratch that: arrogance is Good, Actually (it's entitlement that's the problem, which while correlated is not the same thing :P)
