Do you reply to comic comments?

Just curious. Most webtoons I read, I don't see the creator reply to comments ever. Now that I'm actually getting comments on my comic, I'm wondering if I should just them or reply. Anyone else have thoughts on this?

I always reply. Comments are a scarcity so unless you're used to get way too many of them, only then can I understand you cannot reply to them at all. I prefer to show a little appreciation for my readers that took the time to say something about my story.

Yes I do. Whenever someone comments I can’t help but be grateful and remember to thank them.

I really WANT to reply to all comments (i dont get that many really) but with my social anxiety sometimes I just dont know how to answer certain comments... But if its a direct question I always answer
I alwas like them at least, I hope those who comments understands how much I appreciate them taking time to comment

I don't always know what to reply, but I think it's a great thing to do, and I am answering when I have something to say or I know I can write a simple thank you or even answer with emoticons. We also make a featured comment from previous episode. Readers usually appreciate it, a lot of them go "wohoo, the author answered me!"

Only when I have something to say; I never do 'thank you' comments and would instead just heart and move on. That being said, I do try to think of something interesting to say, even if it's something random that makes no sense; pure compliments don't give me much to work off of but something like "KITTEH" on an episode where I drew a cat is something I try to work with

I want to reply, but I don't know what to say sometimes. Most of the comments are praising my story and how interesting it is. I should have said thank you or something, but is that enough? If the comment is a week/ month old is it too late? If it's a question, I answer. If I meet them on the forum or discord, I would answer, because I talked to them already. I do appreciate the comments and press the like button, even if they don't see it.

Unless the comment is a repeat of something a lot of people have already said or is really hard to formulate a response to, I ALWAYS try to respond. The busy comments section has kind of become part of the Errant reading experience, and I think it really encourages people to check out pages and leave comments themselves, or even to reply to each other's comments.

I always try to reply. Sometimes i don’t know what I should reply, then I don’t do it and just like it.
I know a lot creators who don’t read them because of bad comments. I can understand that. Sometimes 1 bad comment let you feel down, even though there are 20 good ones. It’s kind of stupid, but thats how my brain works sometimes ...

On Tapas, always, on Webtoon, almost never, because I don't want to spend half of day just clicking throught all pages, just to see if there are any. Nottification system is the gold, lol.

I don't have comic , i have novel, but i reply to every comment (i don't get many so it's easy to do), it's the least i can do to someone that takes their time to read my work and comment on it

Yep I try to reply to reply to all the comments on my questions, to me it's not a must but it's a sweet feeling I'm sure when the commenter sees the author acknowledges them It's understandable that as an author gains a super-massive following it would become difficult to respond to everyone. It's up to you in the end. If you're getting comments and if you're someone still trying to attract a committed following, maybe commenting would add that human connection: the commenter feels special and may stay along for the ride.

I originally replied to comments even if they aren't many but right now I just let them be, mostly because I'm not the author of the series so I don't think it's a great impact if I reply or not, as well, part of the reason as to why I don't reply anymore is that readers take advantage of that just to be pushy and demand more episodes, to hurry up, or that "I'm too slow so I should focus on drawing instead of replying to them".

Yes, always! I'm beyond flattered when people take their time to write something about my stories, so even if it's a simple or generic message, the least I can do is to respond. I'm also fortunate to have readers who leave very thoughtful comments and observations, so even more reason to reply.
There have been a few times where I was very busy and couldn't keep up wirh the comments section, but I try to catch up even if it's some weeks later.

Yeah, I absolutely do! I don't see comments on my comic very often, so when I get the chance, I try engaging with the person who commented. It's a cool way to interact with my followers or casual readers.

I love replying to comments! I don't have a huge number of subscribers, but I have about 5-6 regular commenters on almost every episode, and I'm going to make absolutely sure they know I appreciate the interaction. I don't want anyone to feel like I don't care that they're enjoying my story, or that they're shouting into the void.
