So I recently updated my series thumbnail and was wondering how many others do the same? Do you do it when you feel like your art has improved, to try to catch the attention of new readers, change it to match the storybeats/tone, etc? Show me your thumbnail/cover progressions and tell me why you made the change! Also, feel free to link your comics as well! I'm looking forward to seeing the evolutions of people's work/the reasons behind it!

Nicely done on your updated thumbnail there! While the old one looks nice as well, I really like the more close up detail of your new one, it's very eye-catching with the blue standing out against the darker colors.

I updated my thumbnail recently; I liked the general composition but the art for it was over a year old and I wanted something that reflected my current art style. I've definitely developed it a lot over the course of my comic so far!

Thank you very much! Yeah, my art was pretty old too, I think the first one was late 2018/early 2019 so I figured it was due for an upgrade. ^-^'

Yours are both lovely as well so I can say the same towards you! The pose in the second one is such a subtle change that is so worth it! I like the new style too!

Nice! Glad you decided to add one, those really help sell a series and I like how expressive your linework is! And for real, it's fine to post your links! There's no gatekeeping in this thread so everyone's work counts!

I did this within a few weeks of launching my comic, as the original cover art was just a repurposed bit of concept art I slapped a title on. It was only even meant as a placeholder while I came up with something better.

Before proceeding, Shouldn't this topic be more in the "Promtoion" Section? I'm mostly confused...

Anyway, I used to have this kind of Graphic in the early episodes:

Once someone pointed out how that could have been quite misleading and uninteresting, I brainstormed for a while untile, without scratching the Metaphorical meaning behind the old one, I did a few "Tweaks", and this is the Actual one:

I can say that I'm in part satisfied of the final result!

Yes, I just updated it last night!

The old one I had was black and white (pretty much) and made really quickly, when I only had the first chapter (or maybe not even all of it) done. The new one reflects the tone that I’m going for a bit better, I think. And I think it’s more eye-catching. I wanted a cover that was a bit more designed and that felt more like a classic manga cover. But I might change it again further down the line!

I still need to update my comic thumbnail, but I just updated the cover page!

The new cover shows off more of one of the main character's outfits, and the borders are influenced by Art Noveau elements, but I'm not sure if I should keep the border along the edges of the cover after seeing how it looks on my comic landing page.
