Do your characters play any instruments?

Kir'aara, which is the main character of my story United We Stand, plays a kind of flute she carved ! She has yet to appear in the comic though, but i have introduced her on other social media and in this forum !

Spring plays the violin and piano and enjoys classical music.

Her brother Dry is a bit of a musical prodigy and has been learning how to play different kinds of instruments for hundreds of years. But he mostly uses his talent to impress girls XD.

They can be a little competitive when it comes to music.

I imagine Rainy would play something like bass but probably not as often as his siblings.

Mimo plays the piano and the harmonica, mostly because he can't talk. His uncle taught him so he wouldn't feel left out whenever the circus group sings together.

Well interestingly, Hemato plays a Flamenco guitar, and hired a Mariachi at her girlfriend's funeral. The culture of the first half of the story is more like Latin America ( but in this case French-America ) during this timeline. In the second half, it would make more sense for the made character to play a syntheized Shamisen guitar.

There is an odd language fusion between 2045-2085 that makes the lyrics sound somewhat distinct even within the same 6-6-5-6-6 syllabic rhythm:

Francaise dekimasu ka, ou parlez-vour Nihongo?

So it's a distinct language in some ways from Parisienne French. I could however see the music being imported into Parisienne night clubs however.

That's kind of what happened with Andalusia and Southern Spain.

I still need to think about what the lyrical structure of Modern Hafestra is going to be like though. It's completely phonetically unrelated to French in many ways.

Hahahahahaha regrettably, instruments of torture do not count. I should have considered it tho, they're every villain's favourite instrument, after all.

I'm influenced partially by Andalusia, but also French culture as well. Hafestran is kind of a mut of different romance languages, and some Japanese.

And Lojban as well. Tonally, I'm learning in a Insen rhythm that distorts French waltz for example.

The reason finding a rhythm is hard, is the language by 3000 A.D. is very different:

While it will probably never come up in The Black Belt Society, Tyler probably has a guitar somewhere is his room and another character probably has a piano in their house. It's not like music is a focal hobby, but they decided to do it anyway.

Since we're discussing music actually played in it, I also wrote songs I will be using in my work at different points in time:

What I'm trying to envision is a musical mode that combines Spanish, Portuguese, French, and Japanese modalities. The final portion is the Apocalyptic musical mode. ( Because my work is Post Apocalyptic at points. )

Also wrote some musical themes for specific characters too.

Hmmm, about mine, music has inspired most of the story and I wanted to include some characters with musical talents.
-Dominic is a troubadour, he sings about legends, news, and old tales. He plays the lute. His favorite genre is folk music.
-Lucien can play multiple instruments and has a nice singing voice. His dad used to play the guitar for him, so he was been exposed to music since he was a toddler. He prefers "classical" music.
- Amorte, a music duo that I wish I could introduce sooner! The female plays the guitar and sings. The male is practically a legend. He is the most musically gifted of all my characters and he can play whatever instrument he touches. Their music genre is the rock and mental.

Owwww that's so cool <333 music is a great inspiration, it's no wonder it's had such influence on your comic (and I totally feel you in wanting to introduce characters ahdjkg aaaagh why are things so slow in comic making </3).

The idea of a trobadour has ways been super appealing to me... Now I'm imagining Sokar (the ancient being I mentioned that knows how to play lots of old stuff) and Dominic singing old tales together (also thanks a lot for reading<33 I don't think I'll have many chances to introduce music related moments in the story, but that's what the extras are for huehuehue).

Depends on the story to some degree, but for NTN:
Will plays the piano and he can probably mess around on the violin to some degree, though the violin use is yet to be seen in-novel-verse
Crow however can play the (doe sthis count as spoilers...? it was planned since the beginning but not revealed until like... super later.. like ch60+) violin but hates /curses it because to him he has no musical talent and all of his "talent" comes from just classes to learn the instrument. So he'd rather set the poor thing on fire than play it laughs nervously
