Depends on the story to some degree, but for NTN:
Will plays the piano and he can probably mess around on the violin to some degree, though the violin use is yet to be seen in-novel-verse
Crow however can play the (doe sthis count as spoilers...? it was planned since the beginning but not revealed until like... super later.. like ch60+) violin but hates /curses it because to him he has no musical talent and all of his "talent" comes from just classes to learn the instrument. So he'd rather set the poor thing on fire than play it laughs nervously

I totally forgot about Rip's mom, Lurhilde who has an ability that allows her to create any instrument she wants and can play it, which in turn gives her the ability to fly and do other things.
She usually brings out an acoustic. (This was a shout-out to my mom in real life. She's a talented multi instrument musician and also a worship leader.)

You know what, not until now! Never thought about my characters playing but now I think I will. It would probably be either a trumpet or tuba for my more annoying character and a sax for "coolness" for the other lol.

All of my characters are excellent drummers. Usually the drums are the faces of adversaries or each others faces.

I have one character who plays the base. He's on the far right (Oisin's left handed XD) The other two characters (as of now) may not appear (uh...since they live in Scotland & the story takes place in the US).

One of my characters can play any instrument perfectly with no practice or without even having seen the instrument beforehand, and the other would be really annoyed by whatever she wanted to play.

Not the main characters, but I do have a scene coming up with a (medieval) gypsy camp fire dance/sing song. So I need to research old instruments. Possibly lyric ideas too.

I probably have like...half a dozen fictional bands across various stories with 4-5 members each, and a handful more characters that just randomly play instruments ahaha. Some of those stories are straight up just about the bands. Most of them play guitar/bass/drums (or just vocals), but I have a couple piano and violin players in the ranks.

I don't have art of all of them on hand but here is my newest literal band of idiots:

They're a self-described "up-and-coming" pop punk act called Stop, Thief! with a bad habit of getting into supernatural shenanigans on the road. I think their story is going to be a comic eventually but who knows when I'll get that off the ground

Edit: I went back and counted--I have 9 fictional bands, though some of them share members due to existing at different points in the timelines.

And another character I brought in back in 2017 is a former member of a metal band called "Purplesaurus Wrecks" that was forced to quit due to drama related reasons...but is slowly trying to make a comeback by reforming her old band.

Yeah I'm making a webtoon about rock band. And going to introduce bass player soon
