I have been doing Sparrow Song for a few weeks now, which is not really a novel and neither is it web comic, it's both. I knew going into this that there weren't many out there to begin with, but as I took the time to research it more, I found a total of one other comic/novel hybrid story on webtoons. Aside from various webtoon tutorials you will find, there are very few authors/artists who use this kind of format.
For what it's worth, it has it's advantages, you don't have to illustrate every single action (so less time consuming drawing wise) and if you would rather describe something in words, you have that option as well. Likewise, if something is going to be really confusing if only described in words, you just do an illustration. Overall, I just feel like the format is underutilized. If anyone has any thoughts on the matter, I'd love to hear about it or you know of any other novel/comic hybrids out there, I'd like to know about them too
