Does cover make a difference?

So I changed my cover, and now my views dropped. Like, is it hard because the cover changed, or just love views? Should I change it back? I wanted to give the viewer something new, knowing my art has gotten better.

For what it's worth I do prefer the new one.

As for views, there are a million reasons they could have droppes. Though I'll say there is a general downwards trend in views the older your series gets.

I wouldn't worry about it so much, it's normal.

My views change depending on peoples lives. Feb is slow due many places having exams, or new courses starting or holidays for my area.
Winter with the many cultural and regional holidays it changes too. Then you have March Break for my area then Summer time during some weeks, etc

So its multiple variables for mine. I keep screenshots.

Overall, I think the new version is much better than the old one.

However, I don't think the subtitle text at the top is necessary, because it's covering the character's head.

Plus, when this image is used as a thumbnail on your work's page, no one will be able to read that text anyway.

So, have I. I started adding overall categories and action-fantasy title ranks. I have been bad at promoting here lately.

Those two cover are very different in what the story is about. The first is romance, the second is adventure. And tapas (and webtoon) are romance/princess sites. My thinking is you drew more people in with a romance style cover than an adventure style cover.

Yes, cover can make a difference. Personally I like the new one. Definitly would attract me more. Two people hugging eachother - I wouldn´t trigger my interest even for a second. But those two badass swords? Oh, yeah. When I´ll have a creative break, I might consider giving it a crack.
But I think those who´ve read the story should be a better judge what would fit more.

Cover makes massive difference! First of all this is a first thing a potential subscriber see.
New one is better anatomically so I'd definitely say keep it

Yes covers matter, despite the saying people judge books by the cover, and its a book covers job to tell the reader at first glance what their getting into.

A cover should roughly tell your readers the tone/genre of the book aswell as a focal point.

Your firsf cover is softer, the characters are gazing into eachothers eyes lovingly. The focus is 100% romance

The second cover the characters while embraced, are staring at the viewer and with the swords and the girls outfit being harsher the focus is on the adventure and less romance. More 50-50 split. (It kinda reminds me of those pirate romance books, which if your book is anything like that it'd be a good idea to look at them for inspiration)

Edit- the art and everything in the new one is better. But i think your characters lost some magnetisim by having them stare at the viewer instead of eachother.

Warning for those reading the book, I fell in love with this most recent moment in the novel, and I couldn't help but want to bring it to life. I love it so much I made it a wallpaper. What do you think about maybe making it a cover? I want something that attracts people, and my views have dropped HARSHLY!

I think its more interesting and unique than the last 2.
It feels more like theirs a specific world and story in mind.

The only thing i think you might want to try is to brighten up the area around the faces so the viewer eyes have a better focal point.

The artwork is great. Now the critique as a cover for Tapas. It's too dark. Look at the front page of tapas (like the one I posted) and see how light they are. Those are your competition. You can do this by lighting the darkness on the faces to draw the eye to them as all the values are the same. An easy thing to do is blur your eyes and see what pops. Only thing that pops is the hair highlights and the top of his shoulder armor. You want the lighter parts to basically be an arrow pointing at the faces. I do like the background depth of field and I would maybe push that a little bit more to really focus on the foreground of the two people. (mainly the floating boxes). The bubbles are a great touch.

I'd use it. The color, background, and pose are good, doesn't look as "stock" romance novel cover like the other two. I agree the characters are a little too dark + blend into the background. You should lighten them up so viewers can instantly tell what's happening.

Sorry some one gave me another suggestion change the back ground to make the characters pop more.

Black

Dark blue (It makes his hair pop)

Seaform green (I think pops the most but pull away from the stormy look a bit.)

Wild card purple (Just to match the purple and blue vibe in the story)

Mix to compare differences (Order LV 1 black, dark blue ,LV2 purple, green
