If most of your readers are use the Tapas app to read your stuff, they won't even know you added music as it's not a feature they've added to it. So in that sense.. No.

And then there's people who read on desktop and are able to hear it. A good chunk of them think it might be distracting if the music is too loud or if it doesn't match the scene, or at the very least, they'll wanna choose their own music to read to. So in that instance, probably not.

You should ask what they think of the idea and go from there if you wanna include it

I don't like background music on web pages in general, so I won't be listening to any background music from comics/novels.

I put music in all of my chapters my opinion is that I think if there's a song that would fit that chapter nicely that I put in that chapter I make the story come to life more if that makes sense a good example of this is my story the tale of two sisters

You could tell in the first page that to enchance the reading experience they can set the music on......

Some creators find perfect jams for their scenes.........

Generally people are already listening to their own music while browsing the web on the PC. So this sudden music will prolly annoy them.

Tapas app doesnt even play the music (idk why they made the feature to begin with then).

But i added music to one of my chapters JUST BECAUSE.

Unless it's a video I pressed play on. I hate music and or sounds coming from my internet browser and def do NOT want any music playing when I'm trying to read a comic cause I'm usually already listening to reading music and it clashes and makes me angry and then I get more angry for being angry about such a stupid thing.

So the only difference it'll make is that's I'll abruptly close the tab the music is coming from which will result in me never reading the comic.

No matter what site I'm on, if music starts playing without my consent, I almost always immediately close that tab and not return to it.

When I'm reading a book, I want to listen to my own music, because it's part of my reading mindset to have that music on, and a lot of other kinds of music will distract my brain too much to be able to focus on the words I'm reading.

They have the option to turn music on or off in their settings-- so I don't worry about autoplay, (I don't think it ever defaults to autoplay) but I do add it because I want the comic and book to feel like I've filled out all the things. I know it's mostly for me, and few other people see it, and everyone has different tastes...I just want the comic and novel to look fully finished and taken care of, and having a slot missing...eh I don't like that feeling.
