The new page doesn't really necessarily help as a guide of "is this traced or not" because it contains lots of shots of the same character. It's relatively easy to consistently draw one character if you're referencing or tracing, because you just keep referencing or tracing the same character from a manga; so long as the manga is a decently long-running one, chances are you'll find reference for that character in any pose and expression you'll need.
Other problem with this page; he's not in any wide-shots of an environment that would require consistent perspective or interaction with props. If the artist can just get away with lots of close-ups of characters posing dramatically, it's way easier to get away with tracing. Where you can't get away with it is when the script says things like "these two characters get into an arm wrestling match on a barrel in the corner of a tavern." or "Character A, who is drunk, leans on character B as they stumble down the hallway of the dorms". Even just "The character flops sideways onto the sofa, crying, the pull a tissue from the box and blow their nose, then sink their head into their hands, pushing their hair back before laughing at the absurd tragedy of it all." The more specific the instructions, the harder it is to find convenient reference to copy or trace of the character the artist is using in that particular situation.
Like, he just conveniently has a rock to put his foot on in that second panel for a nice dramatic pose. There's no wide shot to say whether or not there's a rock there, so there's no need for consistency across panels, so the artist can draw whatever looks cool and is easy or they have reference for.
It's the same with that youtube vid. Just drawing a character standing there can't prove if you trace or not. People just standing dramatically from a nice side-on view is the easiest thing to learn to draw from memory, through rote repetition or just from best guess. Also a single illo doesn't need to be consistent with any other illos, unlike a comic, which needs a consistent look across pages. When an artist needs to really dig in hard with their construction would be things like more difficult action poses, extreme angles or perspective and interaction with other characters and static props, where you can't just draw them however looks nice and is easy. but have to get all the limbs and the eyeline etc. in very specific places or else the pose and angle doesn't work.
