I'm a fantasy writing, not a comic artist or anything of that sort, but humanoids are kind of a life-blood for races that aren't exactly human. If I can offer something to any of you, I'd be glad to add what I can, I do have a Sci-Fi series, but those characters are more mutants than anything.
-Humanoid races: elves, half-lings, gnomes, orcs, birdpeople, merfolk, if its a DnD race its in here in some way, shape or form.
-My Sci-Fi series, climate change made people have to adapt through experimentation with animal DNA that can survive in harsh environments, so the characters are all human, but they all have mutated appearances and traits taken from animals to survive the environment they life in. Snake people in deserts, fish people in the ocean, that sort of thing.
-There are other races in this one, but they're not really the focus, the two main characters are humans, but have sorcery, so they have lineage of something not human resulting in strange traits and features like weird colored skin, eyes and abilities.
-Again, pretty typical fantasy races, but I did flesh out a unique idea for elves that are partly dragon in this series, but the most part are pretty standard fantasy races.
I know these aren't aliens, but...maybe you can use one as a base for the idea of an alien race or something.
