Yeah, but thank you for this thread still. I think what this might say is that there are few stories here with Drama as the main genre.

Come to think of it, I haven't seen any threads about horror either. I guess drama and horror just aren't that popular here.

Yeah, it might be. On the other hand, I've read all the books posted here. Not trying to brag or anything, but I mean it to say that this has put more books within reach.

My work is a main drama, but it's a comic and i'm pretty sure i'm not alone ^^
But since the thread is just for novels i didn't advertise here

But yeah, i saw a lot of comics who's main genre is drama here on tapas, for novels i'm not sure. I know Ivan's work that i litterally devour <3

Interesting that Drama is one of the genres here; never noticed it as an option elsewhere (not that I can say I've looked!) Have to admit I'm not a fan of creative work being put in neat boxes - primarily marketeers trying to make their own jobs easier methinks - however I clicked in here to ask quite what the genre is, until I saw someone had got in before me. Go the dramatists I say

Hi~ I would actually be curious whether people think my story is considered drama, as I've struggled quite a bit with what genre to put it under ^ ^;;

Basically, the world is semi-magical (there's this concept of "little magicks" where every person has a magic so small that it can hardly impact anything) which kind of leans me towards urban fantasy aka Fantasy on Tapas

but then it's also got some sci-fi/cyberpunk elements being set in 2029 (but not a lot), so a smidge of Science Fiction

and then it's about a girl who goes on an impulse trip to Tokyo after her bff's death, and meets these castaways who live in a hideout in a hi-tech parking structure... there's a lot of ups and downs, coming-of-age etc there, so then that part is kind of Drama?

but then a lot of the chapters are written in a more idyllic, Slice-of-Life way

so... HALP!! >.<

I've spoken with multiple people about what the main genre ought to be and as of yet haven't come to a satisfying conclusion, would love to hear more inputs

Ah, yes. The struggle of classifying the genre. At first glance, the first thing I can think of is Young Adult.
Maybe the main genre should be the one that has elements affecting the story?

I also struggle with classifying mine, but I decided to put it in Drama because despite the made-up setting, the main focus is in the Main Character's dilemma. Besides, if I put it in Historical fiction,peeps there might boot me out ( just kidding)

Genre: Low Fantasy _Goth Drama/Comedy with heavy romance
Some more...sensitive topics are marked in the chapter titles

In the quaint little town of Springdale, there lies an ancient seeming and extremely out of place, abandoned goth manor that out of the blue one day is bought by a family that had it renovated within days of purchasing it, the problem is though the family is...quite weird. The husband and wife are often seen tangoing down their dining room table, the eldest daughter collects poisonous snakes, the eldest son has a mad scientist lab as his bedroom, then the twins: the boy extremely quiet and creepily so, the daughter is the black sheep: loves the sunlight, the outdoors and cute things, but still loves the goth style of the family. What happens when the boy across the street, Jamie Smile, realizes that...the family may not all be as they seem...What if that goth appearances, quirky habits: driving hearses, black flowers, having condors and vultures for pets and never being seen during the day covered...some far...far darker and even more so mysterious. What is the truth behind...The Weirdos in 1642.
