Edit 3: I'm back! And counting starts back from day 1.

Edit 2:Hello, everyone. I got writer's block and it wasn't going away so I decided to try something a little different by making the story in comic form. I know it will be bad but I just want to get this story out and feel like I'm actually doing something.

Which is why I won't be posting here for a while. Or maybe I will, I don't know. I don't want to pressure myself into doing many things at once so I might post drawings here from time to time but they might not be every day anymore.

Anyways, I'm gonna stop rambling now. Thank you for following me until now and I hope to see you around.

Edit: I created a comic where I uploaded my progress so far. You can check out only the drawings there if you'd like to skip the conversation that sometimes takes place in here.

Hello, everyone. I'm GokceofCandG(aka Wocalich). I thought I would focus on drawing for a while and so I'm making this thread. Follow me as I --hopefully-- improve day by day. And please feel free to give me advice as I'm doing this to have fun but I still want to improve.

Present Level(Day 2):

Good luck to you! Just keep in mind that it takes yaers to become a really good artist and that the first few months to year are going to be filled much trial and error but a lot of apparent growth too. Once you get to an intermediate level there will be pleanty of periods of stagnation, but that's a part of bettering yourself (also that's the best time to get into bigger projects). Most importantly, have fun when you do this. Art can be so fulfilling so don't give yourself too many high level goals early on.

Thank you. I'm in this for the long haul. I say this but hopefully, I don't give up early haha

looks good - I like how you did the eyes! Also, this is a nice idea, to record your improvement  Keep going!

that looks pretty cool I think the first time I had drown a person was when I was in elementary it was drawing people in the form of Minecraft style and drawing a person out of the word Boy...

Sometimes whenever I try to draw a character I use reference from other work (whether from models or not), I don't do the tracing, but I look close on how they curve the characters.

yeahhhh thats somethin that'll probably confuse you :sweat_02:

looks pretty decent for your first drawing tbh :+1:🏽

It´s a good plan to draw every day.
Here is some advice.
Make a plan like this:
Monday
10x 30 seconds gesture drawing 30 seconds
facial features: eyes
body: head
pose: standing

Tuesday
10x30 seconds gesture drawing 30 seconds
facial feature: nose
body: collar bones, neck
pose: sitting

and so on. It helps a lot to have a plan and you will improve fast

Hey! Great idea - I think drawing every day is the #1 way to get better at it and you're on a roll :+1:.

Something that's worked for me that might help if you're looking to improve quickly is to zoom the heck out and forget about details for now so you can iterate quickly, learn forms, and start to see your own patterns emerging. That said whatever you find fun that keeps you coming back to drawing is obviously the most important :coffee_love:.

Thank you!

Once I finish with this drawing, I'll give what you say a try.

The smaller faces look better than the faces you draw when you use the whole page.
I love when someone gets better at this and see the developement

It's difficult to keep the proportions right when drawing bigger pictures for some reason

Thank you
