Draw your MC with a different coloring/shading style or a style you hate

For me it was screen tones, since I usually go full color for my comic. And I highly dislike drawing in screen tones. It didn't turn out too bad, but man, did I hate the process! Screen toning takes so long, I have to make sure my line art doesn't have any holes, then I have to draw the shadows instead of just shading them in... I always get the impression I have to be neat with screen tones. Praise Ishida Sui who isn't neat at all!

SO ANYWAYS!
If you usually just do flats with a little bit of shadow, try doing a more vibrantly colored drawing! (e.g. King's Folly) but maybe just do a tiny drawing since it might take a while
If you usually do screen tones, try shading in your shadow or go color!
If you usually go just black and white, try screen tones or color
If you're like me and you do full blown out color, try screen tones or something.
Or you could just do a style you flat out hate. I'm not setting up any rules, just do something different
There are so many different styles.

OH I HAVE JUST THE ONE FOR THIS

I wanted to do something as a thank you for my subscriber so I did this. And I was lazy, so I just splash color all over my clean sketch with little shading but only highlighting. This is quite a different style of coloring compare to what I usually do because it's lighter and more vibrant. such a lazy bum I am

This isn't exactly from my comic but here's something I used screen tones for a long time back (granted, I cheated: Clip(Manga) Studio lets you turn a color image into tones automatically so I started with color)

Mmm I don't know if this really counts, but awhile ago I did the Art Style meme, which is sorta a similar thing XD
The Snipster's B&W style is TOTALLY different than my usual one, so that was interesting; I had a lot of fun doing it! Although since then, my own style has changed a LOT, so even the one that says 'me' looks weird to me now >///<

Left is the original style I wanted my comic to be, but it was an awful lot of work and it was hard to get the colors the same in every panel. With the left style, one panel would take me at least 4 hours!

Right is the new style, now I can finish two to four entire pages in 4 hours. So I think the choice is easy since the new style is more fun to draw. And I'm actually able to draw their faces from different angles now too!

whelp here is something I drew a year ago. I based it on seeing all these terrible scene emo art on DA.

@miesmud I like both of them I'm glad you're able to do more with one of them though. The first one kind of remind's me of Vel's Countdown to Countdown

Thank you Ah yeah, I know what you mean. Vel used the same kind of way to introduce their characters right? I'm still thinking of a different way to make these "reference" kind of pictures of my characters, because I don't want to copy Vel or anyone!
