Hello. I have been thinking about opening commissions lately. I would really like to have more examples though before doing this. I want to also get some practice with drawing someone or something that is explained to me and not something that I made up myself.

I am a writer as well as an artist, so I could easily come up with my own characters. Though, I want to practice drawing from someone else's explanation. If that makes sense?

If you would like to help me out keep reading.

Write any description of a character that you can come up with. Be as descriptive as possible. This will just be a sort of practice thing for me. Though I will probably use whatever I come up with as examples for when I do open my commissions. So please do not send me any characters that are your own. I do not plan on using these in any stories or anything. Again, purely for practice and to use as examples later on.

Any drawings or art created by me (using any of these descriptions) will be mine to use as I wish. However, if you would like to check out my art and would like a commission from me, I will have my Instagram linked below. If you would like a serious commission, please private message me what you would like and what price you are willing to pay.

Thank you to anyone who is willing to help with this! I really appreciate it!

I was just about to send you my characters, then I read the part where you asked not to send our own characters, lol.

I can kind of draw and I can also write. I just wish I find an artist who is willing to draw my story.

Okay sure. I'll start you off with something fairly generic relatively close to the sort of young, attractive characters you draw on your insta already, and then later I'll maybe come back with something more challenging outside your comfort zone. Let's get you eased in and warmed up first though!

Okay so it's a young man, leaning against a wall like he owns the place. He's lithe and athletic in build with bronze skin and he has thick dark brown hair worn loose and long, and aviator sunglasses pushed up on top of his head. He's wearing an old fashioned leather biker jacket and a classic white t-shirt that fits him well with a retro band logo that's faded almost to illegibility and well-worn jeans with holes in the knees. He has a cocky smile on his face, which features intense, dark eyes with thick eyelashes, a long, elegant nose and a fine, almost feminine jawline.

Yea, sorry, I just don't want anyone to feel like I am stealing their characters. If you did want to commission me to draw one of them I would be happy to though. As far as your comic, I'm sure you will find someone soon, if not, maybe you will be able to draw it yourself. Just keep practicing and you will improve for sure!

Okay, that is a great idea! I will probably be posting some of these on my Instagram if I finish them so make sure to keep an eye on it! I will start working on this one here soon! And thank you so much for participating and helping me practice!

Not sure if you're still wanting help, but I can drop some description. Not sure if this will be helpful, but I'll try!

Character Description:
Middle Aged
Curious/open/inviting
Any gender
Round shapes (body, nose, hands)
Warm
About 5'6" ft
Grayish hair, shoulder length
Friendly eyes
Loose clothing
Large feet and hands

I hope that's not too much of a challenge? Let me know if you use this description!

I am definitely still up for more! I will try working on this one soon. Thank you for the help! I will let you know when I finish!

Looks like you followed the brief well! The colours have a nice harmony to them and you sold the head tilt and the sunglasses (I put those in specifically 'cause they're hard, so well done!).
As an area for improvement, I'd say a good thing to look into would be some reference and tutorials on fabric creases, to make them feel a bit more crisp and deliberate, with fewer but more shape-defining, confident creases. Here are some decent tutorials and references to get you started:

You're off to a solid start! Keep up the good work!

Thank you so much! I definitely know I could use some work on my clothes. Thank you for the tutorials! I will definitely check then out!
