Personally I'm enjoy a mixture of both,
Sometimes arcade style gaming is good for a bit of escapism, plus there's less pressure for completion,

Weird stuff has been going around in town, three teens are curious on the weirdly stuff going on, they find a forest and they enter to it and they discover a portal, curious they enter and they fall into a world full of creatures humans passed around as myths, throughout they learn about many things between earth and the world they crossed to.
