Title: The Things We Bound
Genre: BL / Romance Fantasy
Trigger Warnings: Swearing, crude humor, mentions of killing and death
Please read at your own discretion
Description:
Humans believe the forest is silent.
Vaelorin knows better.
The woods breathe. They grieve. They remember every tree cut down beneath human steel. And Vaelorin has spent his entire life listening to the whispers beneath the roots.
Marked unstable by his own people and chosen as the forest’s guardian against his will, Vaelorin walks a lonely line between revered and feared. But when iron begins spreading deeper into the borderlands, poisoning the woods themselves, he creeps along the edges of the forest territory searching for answers.
Instead, he is captured.
Dragged beneath a kingdom of stone and steel by a human soldier named Kaelen, Vaelorin finds himself chained in a dungeon designed specifically for creatures like him. Steel burns through his veins. The forest cannot reach him.
At least… it shouldn’t.
Because vines do not usually split stone walls apart.
And prisoners are not supposed to change the minds of the men guarding them.
Cold, disciplined, and painfully loyal, Kaelen has spent his entire life believing elves were monsters hiding behind pretty faces and clever words. But the longer he watches Vaelorin suffer beneath iron restraints, the more cracks begin forming in everything he thought he understood.
About the forest.
About the kingdom.
About himself.
And perhaps the most dangerous truth of all—
Some things grow far worse once they are bound.
