Some days I have mean talk days, like... No one will read your manga or novel. Or no one cares. What words would you use for yourself and others?.

I want to make this feed a post people can come back to when they need a pick-me-up!

At least I did it.

No one may read it. Just like there will be a last time when someone says your name. But the fact that I created it and made it mine, that's what matters.

You made something where there was nothing. No matter what else you do, for the rest of your life, you will have this to look back on. You will have something that will outlast you. Something that will convey a part of yourself to other people.

Sometimes seeing positive energy in the world is a pick-up. Seeing someone full fill their dreams like writing is for me, helps. All the work put into it seems purposeless until you start to get readers. Then, comments. Then, a sub or like. It slowly builds. And then, sometimes out in the real world, positive energy just manifests and keeps you going to.

Alyssa Liu winning the gold recently in the women's figure skating at the Olympics has been a real pick-up to keep doing my dream. Living the writing dream. It's not glamorous. It's not on TV. But it's real for me.

I love this theme! This is a wonderful thread!

Always remember that being a story teller isn't about numbers or whether some algorithm promotes your work, it's about telling your story and touching the hearts of others. So if you have even one reader, one follower, or one subscriber, you are a Story Teller! And that is a great and honorable pursuit that has been remembered and revered through the ages!

I compare myself to a couple of fellow comics who started around the same time as mine, who have long since been abandoned. Even if nobody else reads my comic, I've already done much better than them.

I'm not necessarily proud of it, but finding somebody else who you compare favorably to can be helpful when you're down.

I always tell myself "Hey, now it's not just ever-changing bits of plot in your head, it now exists in a form you can go back and enjoy over and over in the same form!"

And yes, I do make sure that I enjoy what I've written.

Well, at least in the moment I do. And then three years later I go back and say "I could have done this much better!" Even then, at least there's something there to serve as a basis for editing rather than being 'from scratch' again.

Only you can make your story the way you do. And if you don't tell it-- who will? And it doesn't have to be perfect! If it's done, you're already winning bc you didn't give up <3

I work in genre a lot and honestly have been using serial novels to find my spark and discipline to meet deadlines offline too. I think giving myself permission to write things that are fluffier gives me an outlet to feel better about the more intense writing too! Genuinely places like Tapas are helping me get my spark back and gives me permission even if it's not perfect-- I made it!
