okay, I know that MS can have some problems with file bloating, but this is ridiculous. A million KB??

Has anyone else had this problem or know what might cause it? The file in question doesn't have an excessive number of layers or anything like that. I've tried the hack where you save it as a .jpg and then re-save it as an .lip. It shrunk down to 800,00KB, but now it's back up to a million. Am I missing something obvious? Or is this just something that happens...???

I've never ran into this problem myself but I have heard of this happening to some ppl. Are you using the lastest version of manga studio? They might have fixed this in recent updates?

Holy crap that's impressive. I've never had that happen to me before. Is there anything different you've put in your work? Different pens or something?

@Tanisha it's the latest update as far as I know, but I'll look into it. that's a good tip!

@aFistFull I'm using the same pens and such as usual (g-pen). I can't think of any major difference on this page from any previous file. In fact, compared to my earlier pages, there are a lot fewer layers, I think.

I am truly baffled by this conundrum.

Yeah, I think it might be a bug, one of mine took so long to save to png that it ran up to an entire GB, I had to delete the png file and try again.

That never happened to me. Actually, .CLIP files are smaller than .PSD files here and my current prefered method of saving editing files, despite the humongous .JPG and .PNG it exports.

Try saving it as a new file with another name. Heck, make a new blank canvas and copy all the layers to a new file.

You can also save it as PSD, open it on Clip Studio and fix whatever you need (like redoing the dialogue balloons and stuff). 1GB file is not OK.

I don't think I had this exact problem but my Clip Studio always bloat out PNG files somewhat. I decided to shrug it off and install PNGGauntlet to shrink the PNG files it exports. :/

PNGGauntlet usually shrinks the PNG filesizes by more than 50%, so Clip Studio must be doing something wrong. A 210Kb files usually becomes 90Kb.

I don't have any files like that. Like woah, my biggest file is like 49.5 MB but my files are big and this one had a lot of different layers and effects added for this particular page.

That is really weird tho.

@Savannah it took foreverrr to save. I pressed save, baked a cake, and then came back and it was (finally) done. TBH, it always takes MS a long time on my computer to export as a .png. I always thought it was just because my laptop doesn't have a high processing power.

@Alenonimo I'm worried it'll take forever to copy all the layers. Earlier today the lag was slow I could hardly work on it. It got a little better, though. I'm going to keep trying to figure out what the problem is, maybe re-install/update the program.

@carloswebcomic wow that's a huge difference in size! I'll try that and see if that fixes the problem. I just need to go hunt down the box with the serial number now =n=

@KreativeConfusion I'm thinking it must be some kind of bug. It really is too strange. I wish I knew why it was happening, though :/
