But legit, I want every lead in my romances to be someone people would consider attractive and could easily fall in love with. I make them all look all different ways but I hope I'm fleshing out their personalities and making them dynamic enough to be the perfect fictional heart breakers to ruin people for real relationships XD

Kevin is exactly the same kind of guy I would have had a crush on when I was under ten. He's also a jerk. But that also probably wouldn't have changed anything for under ten me, though I'm certain I would have broken my little heart.

I would definitely have a crush on Dominic Giang, the male lead of "A Dozen Morning Glories." He's just so sweet and goes out of his way to make everybody smile and feel happy. I know that would make me fall in love with him soooo hard.

Also his older sister is definitely a side character to fall for. And hot. Just throwing it out there.

Actually Fernando is about my age almost forgot… mmm might have a crush on him, or at least want to be friends with him.

they could be slightly older than you too. tbh, my male leads Kattar and Dominic are both ten years older than me (28 to my 18,) but I'd still have major crushes on them.

I so would have a crush on some of my characters irl. Since I'm bi, I'm literally obsessed with every girl I meet but only select few girls, so I think I'd have a crush on most of my female characters.

on the contrary, some of the characters i write are people i have CRUSHED on, as in...past tense

feels cathartic to take off the rose-colored glasses and put my crack writer sunglasses on, and while there are times i fall in love with them a little bit (again), i have the consolation that it's only across the pages

i find it hard to crush on characters as i write them...maybe i'll look and reflect more as to why this is...i actually just noticed it now oh my God i need to examine this

lol, i think we should all fall in love with our ocs at least a little bit, it shows we can care for them and feel their emotions. I've finally reached the point where I can feel attached to my characters from my newest novel ad i know it's a good sign

The burning question...

is it a problem if you make every single character in your story attractive regardless of their age?

I don't think so, though some people might say it's perpetuating unrealistic standards. I personally think, in good health, anyone could/would be beautiful, and my characters often have very different traits/features, they still just end up being varying kinds of attractive, even when they happen to be biolumenescent with purple vitiligo.
