So! My comic recently (last week) started posting and I thought i’d share some things I learnt?
first of all, I didn’t know it started posting till today because they forgot to tell me lol
it probably doesn’t happen often (and honestly, i don’t mind) but it’s worth asking about a posting date after sometime with no interaction!
They originally told me it’ll start posting in two months, but then started actually posting after a month, so. worth asking.
also, i sent them 7 pages which were supposed to be 1 update, but they posted them as 7 seperate updates.. again i personally don’t mind, but it’s definitely worth talking about how you want your episodes posted when you reach your posting date
my comic was posted to the romance section even though i felt it was more fitted to the action section: these are the big sections, not the genres, but if you see your comic is posted on one you think isn’t suited for the comic you can just ask them to change it or crosspost and they changed mine no problem~
finally, originally i was going to publish twice-monthly updates of 6 pages each, but after talking with the editor i’m in contact with, discovered they count 50 panels as the minimum; not necessarily 2 episodes of 25. so, i’m moving from posting twice monthly to posting 3 times weekly, but with much shorter updates (much more suitable for a 4koma which is what my comic is~)
