... So, this post is basically a... self-absorbed rant about this other post you made where literally no one is being against you posting fancomics nor being rude towards fanfiction in general just that its not what those 5 people that replied to you were into...
The other people in said thread were very polite even if their views don't match yours, but I guess you never have faced actual negativity, so pardon me as I don't like to sugarcoat things. As someone that has made fan content for over a decade, has rotated from so many fandoms and dedicated their time to them... You only seem to be frustrated over the fact you are not popular, and that your effort making a fancomic does not have chances of being financially compensated in a hosting platform nor people feel sorry enough to read you despite mentioning you've been making that comic for quite a while. Like... good for you and damn the dedication, but... it won't be of everyone's interest and knowing that Tapas has around 9 million members active per month, is more like you being afraid of sharing your stuff and trying out things, like really, giving up for what only 5 people have said? Ok, so making stuff for the fandom and making it more accessible is not your main goal
Like, I'm sorry but check again what you said back then:
The only one having an issue with teenagers or novices seems to be you, and considering you quoted the same franchises two years ago, it really seems you have some irrational beef against them too.
Like, the "points" you are marking down are very obvious, no one disagrees with that but you not seem to understand why ""preschoolers"" have comics out there that are more popular than yours:
- They do share their fancomic, they talk about it, join communities where others share their interest and aren't shy about showing what they made even if they face being rejected, ridiculed
- They have the time to invest in said fancomic, make updates more frequently, compared to adults with work, studies and responsabilities that even prevents them from consuming the original media.
- They may lack ability but also lack the insecurity of posting, don't care about quality or that their story makes sense or have the characters stick to the canon and basically chewing their heads to do a story for popularity and be praised, they have the most pure mentality ever "I think if X and Y did this it would be so cool so I drew/wrote it" and just post it without issue.
- Still, you clearly aren't in fandoms very much because if you knew about “all your fave fics were written by middle aged women” then you wouldn't need to make these self-statements, because honestly, this thread sounds it was done for you more than the people in this forum, we know there are adults in fandoms, we pay for the merch and we've been teenagers before still on those very same fandoms.
- Oh, and there are adults that are just enjoying drawing, sorry they don't meet your standars

Read again what people have told you in said thread, YOU CAN. YOU TOTALLY CAN POST IT, YOU ARE ALLOWED AND ITS ACCEPTED, but those 5 people don't owe you their interest, they don't owe you to share YOUR interest based on the years you've been investing on said comic, and you made a big deal out of them rejecting a fanworks because they are interest are original ones, that still doesn't mean they are trashing on you, they have different values.
Several authors prioritize original work over fanworks because they know it will always be different, no matter how dead your fandom is, there is always one crazy cat looking for more media to consume, there always pops a new fan who binged the series and now wants to binge and consume anything a fan made because it gives them serotonin, totally different than an original comic whose media is being made at the moment and since nowadays people are used to get everything from start to finish so fast, they lose interest even faster because there is nothing else to consume from that original media (And the only way for many to continue building that interest, is by overworking themselves and making those "What If" those "AUs" so fans can continue consuming besides the Main series, I know, since I'm hired to make extra AU content for two Tapas Novels to keep the interest flowing).
Original content most of the time don't have communities, hashtags, people who consumed a previously existing content, because it didn't exist. It's starting to get built right now, they don't have around 100 active fans that at least 5 are making extra content on their own, which basically counts as promotion for the original franchise, engagement and new means of interest.
YOU CAN post your fanseries on Tapas, BUT what everyone has told you is that due to Tapas guidelines and terms of services, they cannot provide you with the resources they give to those that actually follow their guidelines.
Because you are a third party making something for a different brand, and Tapas, being another brand doesn't want legal issues.
A series being original gets support, to be featured, receive donations and such. But because a percentage goes to Tapas as well. They allow fancomics but put those limitations because they cannot get a contract with the original franchise for every fancomic that is hosted in the site. That's a very dumb way to end up with copyright messes or lose a lot of money.
As someone who has been in fandoms, has collaborated in fanfiction for both alive and dead fandoms. I'm going to tell you this: Stop being so entitled and a scaredy cat.
- Yes, Tapas allows to post your work here. Post it without caring if only 5 people were not interested, there are more fishes in the sea
- I don't know the franchise, if its a franchise I'm not interested in then I won't read it, especially if its long, it feels more like a task than something from my hyperfixations.
- I can only give you feedback in the visual aspects, as I'm an artist myself.
- Crossovers are very common, but every person has individual taste when it comes to dynamics of characters, interactions and such. Don't expect many to read a Crossover story since you have different characters of different stories clashing and if they don't match the headcanon its easy to drop it
- You mentioned Inspector Gadget right? Then I bet is not really a dead or unpopular fandom, he is almost one of Tumblr's Sexy man and even if I'm not following any hashtags, I have people I follow interested in him, so to me it sounds like you don't know how to self-promote yourself.
