In my current project, the people may have pointy ears and unusual coloring, but they're basically human.
For creatures, definitely dragons, maybe unicorns, sea serpents, griffins. It's a high fantasy setting and I like the classics! I also want to take some inspiration from extinct megafauna, like aurochs, mammoths, giant deer and that sort of thing. I want to have an ecosystem where big dragons don't seem out of place, but the details will likely stay vague because it's not a focus of the story.
