Modern. Medieval fantasy tends to be too one-note. Ah, yes, ENGLAND but with DRAGONS. Let us all copy Tolkien's homework! I'm also counting futuristic under "modern" and science fantasy is my jam!
Mine's a deep cut. A safe space for otherkin is called Fantastica but some of the letters fell off the sign so it reads Fantasia. In The Neverending Story novel, the magical land is called Fantastica and in the movie, it's called Fantasia. [image]

ProWritingAid is doing a free online fantasy summit at the end of the month. I did last year's and the discussions really helped me with my novel.
My novel basically fits that bill! There's an awful lot of murder for a supposed fantasy romance [:hohoho:] As long as there's some promised romance, it'll be fine!
