Favourite Character Poll

I'm doing a Character Popularity poll to celebrate 2.5k readers on Tapastic and I would love for more people to participate!

This is my first time doing something like this, so I would like to know how many other people have done fav char polls for their comics, how did they host the poll, and how successful was it? Or, have you seen you favourite creator hold a poll that you thought was very fun? What did they do to make it so memorable?

I actually do these at the end of every chapter of my comic (Though I forgot for the first time in years this last chapter), just for fun because I sorta like to keep track, especially as new characters are introduced.

It's not really a big event when I do them, so I just put together a google poll and post something in the description of my last page and maybe on my wall. Here was my last one:

With only 96 votes, it really wasn't a big turn out, but they really aren't a big event when I do them so I don't really expect much. I can't really think of any character poll things that people have done on here, but one thing that immediately comes to mind are what some big manga have done, where they sort of announce the results of the character popularity polls with big pictures. I've kind of always wanted to do one of these, but I just never have time and the top 3 ranks have always been the same for my comic, for the 8 years I've been posting it. :'D

I had the idea to do it because one of my readers suggested it, and one of the creators I watched hosted one.
My story moves a bit too slowly to hold one every chapter LOL though if I had a bigger cast I think it would be fun!
I'm also inspired by the big manga that hold them and the creative ways they announce the results. Recently I saw Boku no Hero Academia and their JRPG themes result illustration, as well as the Kuroshitsuji, and the hilarious comic that was paired with the results

I've been doing favorite character polls since before I put my comics online and had to straight-up ask my readers (AKA my siblings) who their favorite character was, haha!! I usually do them at the end of each year, and prompt people to give reasons why that character is their favorite, and I've gotten a lot of useful information that way!! I also do the inverse and ask people who their least favorite character is and why— I'm a feedback glutton, ha.

I've always gotten more response than I expected, but I also have insanely low expectations SO.

Finding out why a character is a reader's favourite is also a really good idea!
