I like what you’re doing with the style! I think some more dynamic panels would benefit you A LOT (like exaggerated perspectives or action poses)
Like page 3, I didn’t realise Tomato got punched in the gut until I saw the panel of him hunched over later. And although I can get the drama behind it by keeping it close up (which is funny btw), don’t think that close up worked with that short of a build up, but that just may be my opinion.
Exaggeration is key to comedy, seeing it happening can have a greater impact than being given the punchline on its own.
(Following are random google images cuz I need to work sorry! )

(this is some random google image but it conveys the strength of the punch by blurring the hand and making speed lines)
Page 5, the ball FLYING OFF all dramatic like and then missing could be a tilted panel to emphasize the action/speed (maybe if you change the perspective or shot to convey the fast and powerful throw if it's what you're going for. Maybe even having a panel of him throwing the ball in a more exaggerated pose can convey the strength behind the throw.

(See how the panels here are tilted and exaggerated to convey speed and movement?)
Then right on page 6, when Tomato gets punched in the face, it doesn’t seem as powerful, think about action lines

When a person moves, think of an arrow and how punches form arches, only breaking the flow when they hit something.
Overall, your comic has a good sense of self awareness and I like the style you want to use very much! Sports manga/anime aren't my thing, but even as an outsider I knew the tropes you're poking fun at and it works!
These are just my suggestions but I hope it helps you in some way!
