Hi guys! Its our first time on the forums and Tapas in general, and we're still learning the ropes - excited to get to reading all your wonderful comics! I just want to take a moment to show what we're working on.

Rebel Rouser is set in a loose 1950s era and is full of comedy and the supernatural. Still in the early stages of the pages - we're still learning a lot! But we'd also love to see what you got going on too - plus a fun question! What inspired your comics?

For Rebel Rouser, we take a lot of inspiration from Pushing Daisies, Twin Peaks, and Pleasantville to name off a few from the top of my head. How about you guys?

Ohh such nice art! I'm very interested so I subbed! Welcome to Tapas!~^^b

Hi we're in the same boat! I simply adore that 50s art deco style~ It seems interesting and I have subscribed to see where things go!

If you're interested, we have a new comic as well! We just posted the first four pages

Here's the first page

Salutations and welcome to Tapas!

You've a very sharp style (love your choice of color palette); Rebel Rouser looks fantastic, awesome job you guys! Gotta say it'll be interesting to see Twin Peaks and Pushing Daisies collide! (Love both, but Olive Snook is life.)

In answer to your question: It's going to sound stupid but, the inspiration for my comic came from "Little Bunny Foo-Foo" and other silly little rhymes of the like. Perhaps there's a dash of Watership Down in there as well.

We're new to tapas too. Your comic looks neat! Love the art style.

We're new to Tapas too and only have a few pages up but we update on Fridays. Our comic is sci-fi about a an alien planet at war. The main characters get separated from their family and have to travel though a hostile world to try to find them. I think the story came from years of other projects and stories we did together through fanfictions or rps.

Freaking gave me an opportunity to advertise my comic.. How kind :,)

My comic has been in development for about 2 years. I never really put it down on paper though. It started out simple and then turned into a complex story cx.

But now let's talk about the real subject. Your story's art is just the best! Oh my goodness, I've never seen a design so unique. Interesting story, sense of humor, black background! It's awesome and I can't wait to see more.

I absolutely love the colour choices and art style of Rebel Rouser~ Definitely keen on seeing more of it!

As for your question: my inspiration came from my interests in mythology (greek, norse, gaelic, chinese, everything 0_0 ), demons and stories from the Bible (though I'm not religious myself, I find it very interesting ^^' ) , and I like drawing scary stuff as well xD so that was added to it.
Give it a try if you want to~

Olive Snook is a precious baby and I will love her forever. I'm actually just giddy anyone knew what pushing daisies was haha! The color pallet is something we've back and forth'd a lot on so I'm glad its reading well - part of the reason there was such a dramatic shift in rendering style between the prologue and chapter 1, but i'm really with how chapter one came together.

Watership Down and Little Bunny Foofoo :scream: I gotta see what that mixes up as..gonna go take a peek!

I commend anyone that can update weekly, I find it so difficult to do it that often! You guys are beast mode! The premise sounds pretty interesting - and its funny how many creators I've met started off their comics from fiction and RPs! Its great to see people taking that sort of thing and applying it formally to a comic.

I can really relate to working on a story for that long before actually taking action on it - Prince of Spades and Rebel Rouser both took us about 3ish years to finally start on for a variety of reasons. Its hard to organize your thoughts sometime on paper - the fact you've finally gotten to that point is really commendable! Keep at it!

Thank you so much for the kind comments on the story and art, it really inspires me to keep going! <3

I took a peek and loved what I saw, subbed! Thats a really cool amalgamation of influences to combine into one story, but that sort of thing really helps add a layer of depth to the universe - makes it immersive. Cant wait to see more!

Wow. Your art is definitely more polished than mine. I'm on my second (maybe third comic) I'm 19 so the first two attempts were just terrible incomplete failures. I'm much happier with this latest try though and I hope it works out.

I've always wanted a comic about a necromancer so I decided to make one. I used to be really into fantasy, but in recent years I've gotten more and more of a taste for romances and crime mystery stories so I'm trying to work in all those elements. I feel that both my writing and art are still lacking, but that's learning for ya.

I don't have many pages so far, but I hope someone here can enjoy this:

Absolutely! She and her beau were the best secondary characters in the world. (I think her boyfriend was played by Raul Esparza1, an incredible singer who has a great sense of humor. They were just perfect together) It's great to meet another Pushing Daisies fan! I bought the little box set the instant it was out, haha.

I think that the palette you chose makes the foreground pop and the back ground smooth. It really does read well; I can't wait to read more.

Side note: Thank you! I appreciate you taking a look. (Ah the nightmare fuel of the Watership Down movie. Makes childhood complete.)

Wow! I hope everyone keeps up the good work! My partner and I just started a comic too and we're hoping we can keep up the pace!

Our series is a light hearted super hero tale called Star Savior Bunny! It's (obviously) influenced heavily by Sailor Moon, but we hope to let all our influences shine.

Wow, this is so cute!! I love retro comics lol Already subscribed and can't wait to see more! ^-^

We just posted our new comic this week if you'd like to check it out  Overclocked2

Main character Katsu joins an elite school that uses a cell phone app that generates strange monsters! What in the world are they for? Starts out a little creepy, but it gets cuter as you go on ^^ Art inspired by Persona 3, Digimon, and Chinese/Korean webcomics to name a few!

Sailor Moon influence! That makes me so nostalgic. I love the logo for the story too just from the thumbnail, really pops out. I'm going to check it out during my lunch! How is working with a partner? I find myself enjoying partnering up for my various comic projects a lot more than going solo myself - it keeps me more motivated, and forces me to keep drawing when I otherwise wouldn't be.
