My guy August would sit in a corner with a lamp and blanket while his dad is busy taking care of problems at work from the power outage.

Funny question: I’ve gone extended periods without power. After hurricane Fiona in 2022 I had no power for thirteen days.

…But I’m a resourceful son of a bitch. I built my own house including the wiring, so I wired it for a generator. I burned through over $600 in gas during the Fiona outage, but I had power. I also installed a battery back up for my fibre op modem so even during brief outages my wi-fi stays active.

Between the generator and the fact that my devices are all battery powered (laptop, iPad, iPhone, etc) it’s pretty much business as usual. Even if everything went dead I’d just read a book.

What does this have to do with my OC? Simple: in Wild Nights, Hot and Crazy Days, my OC is me.

Deacon, in Finding Daecon’s Way, has similar mechanical skills to my own, so he’d cope the same way. He’s not much of a reader though, so he’d probably just go out and hit the bars if things went truly dark at home.

In the neighborhood where I live, it is almost customary for there to be power outages for long periods. In recent months it is not so frequent.

Regarding my characters,... this will be out of context but, well, two of my four characters, Lester and Victor, are a couple so I'll leave this to the imagination, 🤣 regarding Benxamin, Victor's twin brother, he would die of boredom, he is not a technology addict but it is not that he is one of those who do nothing.
Marcel, well maybe he would go to sleep, the poor guy works a lot.

For Astra, she would be just fine since she has her magic and most of her hobbies don't involve electronics anyway.

For Psychoborg, it would be a pretty bad time because he's a cyborg who tinkers. Unless some of his items are battery poweres (most are not), he would be bored and just counting down the minutes until the power comes back on.

Interesting question! My characters are not as interesting, lol!

Alec Tryon (CEO/farmer/Boomer combo): would light some candles and continue working/reading/something he deems 'productive' until he goes to bed--whenever that is...
Luke Tryon: Panic - if phone is almost dead, or continue sleeping. No other options to occupy him.
Aldi: Secretly a prepper, has spare batteries and a solar charger always on hand. But it's an old USB, only works on her 8 year old phone (she is like me, lol! Upgrades are for hive-minds, XD)
Carl: would continue to do chores at night. He thinks he can see in the dark. The bumps and bruises on his legs prove it.

My chickens don't use electricity (they somehow know how to use fire, so candles, coals, wood, any natural source of fuel)
Friar would probably continue what he does at nights, scribbling on his scrolls.
Bucky actually sleeps outside now, so he's none the wiser XD
Gallus (the top cock) might be concerned of his nightly patrols, but he'll keep on patrolling until the dawn.

Note to future self: This would be a fun idea to put in a future episode (centered on the humans, cause the chickens would be fine...unless there's a tornado/flood...)

Interesting question!! I'll do the Rodriguez brothers from my comic:

Bobbie (left) is afraid of the dark, and his deafness makes it even more difficult to cope with it as he can't lipread or see someone signing to him. So he'd have a flashlight at all times.

David (right) knows his brother doesn't like the dark, so he'd try to keep the house as well-lit as possible with candles/flashlights too. He'd probably suggest they play cards or a board game to pass the time.

Tina, Georgia, and Andy would either listen to music or play games on their phones, or just play a board game or two together, as for Rachael she would just stay in her room, smoke, or just go out to see her friends til the power goes back on.

Human Yet Hybrid
For Edwina, Ida, Preston, and Tobar, I don't think it'll be that much of a problem as they got some magic by their side and would have a little fun with it anyway, besides the world they live in doesn't have much tech to it.

ok so mine is a fantasy universe, but in a similar situation:
Henry is the only one pulling out a lantern and improvising ways to keep working, either reading, writing, whatever.
Larry, Spring and Autumn wouldn't give a damn since they all have night vision, Spring and Autumn might mock Henry for not being able to see in the dark.

My main OC is a 'Being' born in the Underworld (not christian hell) so shes accustomed to low light or complete darkness. She melds within the actual shadows too. Being a fire type she could make her own light if she wanted to. At her home she would probally nap, or read a book or work on her journals by flame light or one of the fireplaces, if there was no power.

Okay I’ve got the definition of words I kind of understand why this question going I am broke my heart a character turns to lose a pound during the daytime if it was during night time she would do experiments the hell is that why she’s lost her power but it will be very concerning with some other people not trying to give it away but if she’s going out like party and stuff I think she’ll be like oh look at this and just be like tried to do it and nothing comes out in everyone’s life where are you guys doing then what I think you have like a soul crushing episode because if like that has gone during the night time and it might mean her powers are fading and be like noo . However, I think she would enjoy not having the migraines anymore and feel like that’s a bonus from losing it but if she was on a mission, then that would be disastrous

However, if it was just like a normal power outage night like the lights went off or something like that then it really wouldn’t affect her that much, because of reasons however, I think she would just try and comfort her brother a little bit more because she understands that he can’t see in the dark and be like go there go there and go there to help him get around, but she also might just troll the Everloving hell out of him ending him up in a lot of funny situations like him just banging into things and she is just Just sat in the corner going no to your left to you left and he would move in something and then knock something over and just be like this is so funny

Talia: Falls asleep, since it would be too dark to do anything else (ex: uni coursework, reading) and she doesn’t have other options for light sources (especially candles, considering she’s terrified of fire). I really don’t think she’d care for that long about the power outage.
Caster: Lights a candle and sits in silence by himself. Ends up ruminating for too long on past memories. Now he’s sad again. :((
Melissa: She’s probably the only one who does something that’s legitimately productive. Maybe tries to get work done in the dark. (I feel like she can’t be trusted with a candle and she’s too lazy to grab like flashlights and whatnot, so she’d rather just sit in the dark). Maybe she’s outside anyway until the outage is over.

Well, considering Macai is a firebender, he would easily still be able to see by lighting multiple torches with his white flames. Since he has dated Azula, depending on the time, he could get her to conduct electricity for him and bring power back. Lol, Macai has the cheat code for this scenario.

He can still cook by using his firebending too.
