OMG I worked at B+N when this book came out and we could not keep these horrible things on the shelves. It took up two entire bookstore shelving units--just completely Shades of Grey and we had to just keep ordering more and more because man, no one reads like a horny grandma. Which was most of the people who purchased this book haha.

Man, working in used books during the aftermath of that was horrible. EVERYONE was trying to get rid of those books and would throw FITS if you told them "I'm sorry we do no accept this title." We already have 500 copies of these in the back we can't get rid of, we don't have room for any more.

I still keep finding copies around my house to throw in the trash cause used books sellers STILL will not take them (my mom keeps getting these fuking things from co-workers because they can't get rid of them but she 'loves books' so they just dump it on her and she doesn't have the heart to say "I will never read this and I already have 5 copies at home') Like please, just give these things so someone that use decaying books to grow mushrooms or something because ACTUAL BOOK COLLECTORS DO NOT WANT THIS.

We actually had/have the same issues in BOTH scenarios with the Twilight series too.

I’ve said this before but, again, I think it’s stuff like this that people need to be more objective and understand what’s going on here.

People were interested in it and horny moms and grandmas across the country were obsessed with it and to THEM it was GOOD. It’s not just that it was marketed well — there was a group of people that already wanted that product. The people who wanted it had already sought it out, the publisher probably didn’t know what the fuck was going on but went with it because there was proof of concept (and big $$$ potential), and it was marketable.

Also, the fact that we’re talking about how absolute fucking silly this paragraph is makes me want to buy it and cackle at it and that’s marketing 🏼

(But also it’s literally just porn that wasn’t marketed as porn so people felt comfy buying it and obviously that’s gonna sell)

To be fair...it was an AU fanfiction for Twilight. So there wasn't much to go off of from the source content.

Forum behaviours that i can't stand?
People complaining about bad they are at something and then achieving everything anyway but without truly recognizing these things.
Happened a lot on facebook with a girl who used to draw suuper good and all she did besides that was complaining about not being enough, not achiving anything in terms of career and people...like, i would say she was pretty negative and now she's with a publisher and still complaining XD like, ok hahaha

I used to be like this too not too long time ago, but i'm working more about myself and trying to stay away from socials as much as i can.

So yeah, shortly speaking i can't take too much negative and toxic behaviour that someone has against themselves or the others, i guess
