Hi there! I'm starting college very soon, so it wouldn't hurt to try and make a little money on my art since I'll be cooking my own meals in a couple of weeks.
However, I haven't done anything like commissions before, so I'd like to make a few 'showcase' pieces (I'm pretty sure you know what I mean). For this, since I can't really offer examples, I'll make a couple of 'practice' commissions for free!

If you're interested, please specify the following:

  • digital or traditional
  • sketch / coloured sketch / line drawing / coloured / lineless painting
  • no / simple / patterned / complex background
  • cartoonish or more detailed
  • pose / the action which the character is undertaking
  • props
And of course include a reference of your character (or a description when you don't have any images)

Even though asking only for coloured full bodies, detailed with a complex backdrop might be tempting, I'd really appreciate it if some varied demands came in so I can present a wider range.

This is, I repeat, free. I will be using the pieces to promote my commissions, but you are free to use the images for any purposes as long as you credit me. I can't promise to make a piece for every interested person, but I'll try my best to make quite a few.

Oh that's neat.
I'm still working on the design of a character I'm yet to introduce, so I was wondering if I could let it somehow vague and you can go creative? I would like it to be in format that fits a banner tho.

digital or traditional: either (it's a dragon)
sketch / coloured sketch / line drawing / coloured / lineless painting: coloured would be nice
no / simple / patterned / complex background: simple, maybe a little "blurred", like just the ground in which she's walking (a field of blue flowers) with not many details or clear outlines, mostly just colors.

cartoonish or more detailed: either
pose: full body, profile, walking.
2
props: (props are like accessories, right?) well, no clothes or anything; just a dark red gem on her chest (like merging with her chest) the size of a heart
1
reference:
she could be somehow like a chinese dragon; long and slim body (but not very long), strong and short limbs, long tail, maybe a small mane and some fur at the end of her tail; but the face could be more like that of the yellow lizard above
1

feather wings (she can fly)

it's an albino dragon, but white skin might be a little boring, so maybe like champagne?

maybe have scales like that?
2

on anything regarding the body and general structure I'm very open minded, if you think something I didn't mention would work nicely, I'm up for discussing and adding/removing it.
format Tapas banner.

Coincidentally I've been wanting to draw a dragon for some time now! I'll try my best

UPDATE: I also have quite a few requests on Deviant art. I won't be doing all requests in order of what came in first. I will be doing those who strike my interest first, but I consider everything and all goes on my list. I'll try to get through as many as I can. Please don't be mad if I don't get to your request, I am doing this for free with the intention to switch to paid commissions in a week or two. Thank you

what style example are you needing? cause I was going to request a traditional coloured sketch no background detailed half-body shot. But if there's something else you need I can change it. I know having examples with variety are important.

That's really sweet of you, I will let you know when I do so ^^

oh wow, your art is lovely! I hope you don't mind, but I sent over a PM request!
thank you very much for offering your art! <3

Is it okay if I request as well?
If so I'd love to request a picture of my character Jack Frost. I have a reference pic to use, but you don't need to make him look EXACTLY like it. I don't have any pictures of him in actually though, just descriptions. He has a human form, a sort of powered-up form, and then his true form. Whichever interest you the most (all three might be a little extreme unless you really want to) I'd absolutely love.
Human descript:
His hair is very light blonde, nearly white, cut short and close to his head. His hair sat on his head in a messy, chaotic manner. His face is in general very handsome and youthful. He had bright blue eyes, like sapphires, that tend to be quite expressive. He is 17 at the beginning of the story, so that would be the age you'd want to draw him. Jack's personality is very playful, excitable. Almost like a little kid. But he's also very quick to change moods and here is a line in the story to accurately describe that. 'I can be playful and fun, just like winter can make children feel. I can be mysterious and beautiful, just as nature is. But I can just as quickly grow deadly, wrathful, beyond the control of any man.'
Powers Form descript:
Jackā€™s eyes were now a very pale blue, nearly white. His skin tone, which had been a healthy, rosy color before was now as pale as death. His lips were a faint blue-purple. His hair had lengthened out slightly, falling a few inches past his shoulders. Now, instead of being a very light blonde, it was almost completely white. His fingers, when he lifted one to point at her, ended with two inch long nails...frost was steadily creeping out from where his bare feet touched the floor.
True Form descript:
The creature called Jack Frost stepped forward in his full glory, as the room became a block of ice in no less than two seconds. Three inch long fingernails, as sharp as blades. Long hair that fell to the middle of his back in a chaotic, snow-white cloak. Skin so pale it was the color of death, blue-purple lips pulled back in a silent snarl. Eyes that were ice-blue, with slitted white pupils and sharply pointed ears screamed that this humanoid was far from the fragile powerlessness of humanity. Faint, white tattoos, like frost upon a window, covered every inch of his body.

I apologize for the wall of text.
I'll include the sort of reference pic, which I feel captures the general look and feel of Jack's personality. The eyes are different colors and the pic is in black and white except for the eyes. But even so, the character has a sort of flirty and mysterious expression and this is how Jack would look in his Human form.

As far as the style, I honestly don't know what would look best. I would love color and since this is Jack Frost, having an ice/snow theme might be really cool. I'm open for anything you want to do. Take some creative license or try out some things you haven't done before or haven't done often. Honestly, just getting to see Jack as envisioned by someone else would be absolutely amazing!
